The amount of down time you have waiting for car computers to do their thing, it seems like the manufactures/programmers of these modern cars just don't take someone else's down time into consideration when they create these computer systems. Thanks for the ride along Jay. Cheers

I try to stay away from the long trips and stick to my 20 mile circle, I still do about 80 a day. I do have some big accounts that I run a long way for like most guys do.

How do you approach Nissan Rouge (2015)? I was told that the PTS models have a high probability of bricking. Ran across a regular ignition and gave it a shot (with disclaimer) and it went all bad

I run from all Rogues unless it's all keys lost. I have done a pile of keyed style and never had a problem. Maybe you had an aftermarket remote start lurking ?

@@locksny It definitely was AKL, she was willing to take the risk because the dealer said $600

@@locksny I went under the dash and didn't see anything but the way it behaved after attempting the key was a complete shut down. I threw the IM508 and then the Ikey at it. Even got my buddy to bring his APP down. Wouldn't even communicate after a couple attempts.

@@richtownc1 Even if it was bricked, it would just say it programmed and not program in. Did you do a hard reset and try it after ? I have had Nissans stuck on stupid before and a hard reset brings them back around.

@@locksny Gotcha. Im about a month out so from what I remember was a blinking light. I usually get a solid then it turn off. Backstory she was up and running before she lost the key and usually I get a solid then it turns off. I threw a IM508 at it multiple times and a few hard resets. I hooked the Ikey to it just to see if I could get it going also. About a week later my buddy went down with an APP and he said no dice, won't even "talk" to it.
