I have a 2018 Star Eluder. I can tell you from experience, that this bike gets hot. Especially when you are in traffic. It does have an oil cooler that helps. The only gripe about the Venture and the Eluder is Yamaha’s support. If something on these bikes goes out, shops do not carry extra parts. Starter’s on these things fail. These bikes also suffer from rear cylinder failure.

I wish luxury motorcycle manufacturers would do their motorcycles like the car industry do three different versions of the same bike SE LE or premium that way you can have choices even though it's the same bike with extra features or less features

I had an 2018 Yamaha Star Venture Transcontinental. It’s not a Royal Star. I had mine for 22 months. I had put 38,000 miles on mine in the 22 months. It’s an awesome bike. Has everything except Apple play and hill assist. Electric reverse and forward. Enough torque to start out in 3rd gear. I’ve ridden it from New York to Daytona Beach round trip 3 times. Problem free. I would of still had it if I didn’t hit a deer at 70mph. Video on my KZbin channel. I now own a 2021 Harley Davidson Ultra Limited which I also love. I looked at the 2021 Honda GoldWing and it was just too small for me. Also on my Yamaha Star Venture Transcontinental I went Darkside. Best thing I ever did. And I pulled a t trailer with it.

Nice bike. I don't discriminate against any bike. I ride a HD with a M8 engine, and I haven't experienced any heat issues since they added heat management. When it gets hot the rear cylinder stops firing at idle and resumes when you take off. They have an auxiliary fan that can be added to pull heat from the passenger. I like the 2016 Wing also. Ride safe. ✌

Latest technology has Yamaha running oil above and below the power plant. Living in so cal, you can open lower vents, or slap some highway pegs to cool your lowers.

I own first and second generation of the Yamaha venture touring bikes Both Are V4 water cooled engines that we venture owners have come to love ! I think venture owners were hoping the newest generation would’ve been a larger V4 water cooled with more power I think Their decision to go with a V twin air cooled engine was a big mistake and it has definitely hurt the sales of this new third generation venture line ! So much that Yamaha does not offer the sale of this motorcycle anymore !

That Yamaha Venture is not a bad bike at all!. Test rode it at a demo day last. It's real heavy but it rides great for what it's supposed to do... Tour! Price is definitely an issue. Everything else for me is all good!

Ride like a pro jerry palladino made a video about the Yamaha star venture trans continental and calls it the great bike that nobody buys. Many show.rooms still have 2019s and 2018s sitting unsold. Many showrooms won’t stock them cause they don’t want that inventory just sitting unsold for years. It’s a great bike but at it’s current price point folks would rather get a Harley or a goldwing if their going to spend 25 to 30 grand. He also stated that many showrooms ( allegedly) will not let you test ride the Yamaha before you buy it which would definitely be a deal killer.

Denzel Washington is now riding transcontinental bikes - good stuff! The Star Venture is looking to lure the un-loyal Harley rider away. Yammy made a great product that nobody wants to buy. Maybe a little more complicated electronically than it needs to be, and that might be its big flop.

Nice bike but,... The rpm's limit out at 4 1/2. Also turning is limited by the lower stance. Boards will scrap easily while turning. Other than that, nice reliable bike. Just my take on it. As for me I would prefer the Kawasaki over the Yamaha. Goldwing and Harley Road Glide Limited are about the same money, around 30k

If it is the TC transcontinental it has heated grips heated seat and a cooling seat.

I can't find one to buy. I want a Transcontinental 2020 or 2021. Looking to get out of my 2021 Goldwing. I need confort and more lugfage capacity. A bike you feel like your in it, not on it like the New Goldwing feels like sitting on a sawhorse. It still looks like a wing tho. The only way I would stay on the Honda is if my youtube channel depended on it. Sorry Bro. You were right when you were sceptical but you have to do what you have to do. I'm getting out. I would already own an Indian Pursuit if you could actually buy one.

Ridden in South Texas in August 2 years in row... no problem. There are a ton of air- cooled bikes running around all over TX. No problem.

I'm in Louisiana, and summers go over 100 degree regularly, with 80-85deg sunrises. I had the same concern about heat soak and possible overheating in bad traffic. But then I looked around at the 10s of thousands of air-cooled engines on Zero Turn Mowers, turning 3700 rpm for 8 hours a day at 6mph, and they go thousands of hours.
