You're right about piecing together your own tool kit. Cruz tool kits are already put together and really don't cost that much more than if you created your own kit of individual (cheap) tools... plus they have a nice bag or roll.

Only thing i don't agree with, no fault of your own, is the dji controller. They doubled the size of the controller to have a screen when every person that is using a drone, has a phone. Why make it more bulky when we already have the screen in our pocket?
@RidingandWrenching8 ай бұрын
I actually prefer the built in screen. Now my phone isn't tied up and I don't have to carry an additional cord to plug the phone to the controller

Don't underestimate the value of having a spark plug socket in your tool kit! If you're a high mileage rider, you'll eventually foul a plug. I actually carry a spare plug in my kit too, for myself, friends or a strange rider on the side of the road. I carry all my "tool kit" items inside a small CLC brand tool bag. It ends up being smaller than your tool roll but I have more.
@RidingandWrenching11 ай бұрын
Never thought about that! My 18 RG has 90,000 miles. I guess I should be prepared for anything!
@billcarson196611 ай бұрын
@@RidingandWrenching I change my plugs every 5K miles when I do my service interval bc... Why not, right? They're cheap enough and performance does degrade. Most likely that's just me being a little OCD though. Every 10K is probably more reasonable. LOL
@RidingandWrenching11 ай бұрын
@@billcarson1966 do you remove the tank when you change your plugs?
@billcarson196611 ай бұрын
@@RidingandWrenchingUnfortunately for the M8 you have to. I don't own one but I'm getting an M8 Road King in the new year. On my friend's RG we had to remove his tank. I'm wondering though if you can get away with loosening the forward tank bolts, remove the rear and disconnect cables and tilt it upwards? I don't know if there's enough clearance but that might make an interesting video! LOL
@RidingandWrenching11 ай бұрын
@@billcarson1966 I remove the tank when I do mine. I was just wondering if there was a different way to do it without removing the tank! Fortunately, removing the tank is easy (unless there's a lot of gas in the tank!)

I'll double NOT recommend those Emergency Tool Kits... so many tools that are useless for a motorcycle. Most don't have anything you may actually need such as T27 bit, correct size Allens to tighten shift rod linkage yadda yadda yadda. Must better to make DIY kit.
@RidingandWrenching7 ай бұрын
I have purchased 2 and will be buying a 3rd (I keep one in each of my bikes). You can always make your own tool kit, these are well made tools and I have found them to be very useful.
@asdfasdf-fg5kx11 ай бұрын
"this kit has everything you need for an emergency situation".... guess i missed where you showed it comes with a mini air compressor for when you pick up a nail plug the tire now you just grab that handy compressor in this kit to air it up? or a set of easy-outs for when a spark plug explodes on you goin 75 and you need to 'tap in' to remove whats still stuck in the cylinder? bro you ever even been stranded on the side of the road before or just call someone to come get you
@RidingandWrenching11 ай бұрын
It's also missing a motorcycle jack and a welder. What abt a torque wrench! I could sit here and think of several tools that this kit doesn't have. Most people use a little common sense and evaluate their tools....add anything else you think you may need.
@austinthacker75899 ай бұрын
You are so right, a couple years back, the top end of my brother's bike went out on a ride and it was such a hassle to call someone to come get that bike. If only we had a complete top end and a "proper" tool kit, we could have just done the top end right there on the side of the road. I was just watching that "tool kit" and thought no way could I do a complete top end with that piece of junk. From now on, I'm taking a complete top end and all the tools to do it every time I leave the driveway and anyone that doesn't is stupid.

Totally incomplete list! The MOST IMPORTANT ITEM(S) are the portable jump starter and portable air compressor. There are several different options for either of these items and they are LIFE SAVERS!! Not just for you, but for ANYONE around you that needs help. I have jump started several cars for stranded people that never would have thought to ask me ( a m/c) for help. I have one of each in ALL my vehicles. AWESOME items!!!!
