I found the suspension a bit hard too, at least there are lots of adjustment options. From the gearing comment, I guess a rider might swap the sprocket. I find sport mode in 2nd or 3rd quite responsive without changing often. The Style option in Rider mode is the display style - there are some nice screen layout options, big speedo or big RPM. Watching those "children" at the end wasn't so bad, what disturbed me more was all those 50 year old journos were leaning over the yellow lines into oncoming traffic on public roads. On quiet back roads you might get away with using track/race lines, but there was a fair bit of traffic on that bend around the 13 minute mark.

One question I have is about the throttle response. I've only test ridden a 2016 Street Triple R so that's what I'm going off. I noticed it had a pretty twitchy throttle. It felt like when I closed it, even being gentle, there was a bit of a jolt. And same went for opening throttle but not as noticeable. Ultimately I chose a BMW S1000R among other reasons because it's throttle response was smooth as butter.

Can't bash the suspension when you didn't bother to set it up for yourself. I'm 160 lbs and mine feels nice and plush when I want it to, in fact I had to add 3 turns of preload to the rear because rider sag put it so deep into it's travel that it was feeling harsh. Fork adjustment tool is under seat ;)

I hate it how they make traction control control the anti wheelie on most new bikes .. super duke and Tuono are the only nakeds you can turn them off independently
@217853457 жыл бұрын
Stupid right? And the 2 bikes being the ktm and aprilia, that needs them the most, you can turn it off lol.
@nhuntify7 жыл бұрын
Richie Pistashios you can totally turn off the tc on the rs. Simply in track mode and its off.
@BurningBroadcast7 жыл бұрын
Read, he's not talking about TC. He wants Anti Wheelie off, but Traction Control on . Most bikes group these 2 features, except the Super Duke and Tuono.
@killik17 жыл бұрын
I cant see how it would be possible, put the front wheel up and its revs will slow down compared to the back wheel's revs so "traction control" detects that and cut down the power. Thats the exact same thing happening when you put too much gas and start a wheel burn. How could the bike make the difference ?
@BurningBroadcast7 жыл бұрын
Traction control works on the rear wheel, not the front wheel.The front wheel speed is anti-wheelie. A simple option to disable that would suffice. I mean Tuono and the Super duke do it . It's really not complex. Just rear wheel rotation speed in relation to the speed driven.

Factory suspension settings for RS are a bit screwed up. Rear rebound is way too slow and compression too soft.

The throttle response changes with the modes right? Are you saying it was too delayed even on the most aggressive setting?
@timquain53416 жыл бұрын
How do you wheelie this bike? I've just purchased the RS and am trying the foot brake followed by throttle in 2nd. It just doesn't want do it. I'm not sure if it's the throttle lagging (therefore timing not right for when I come off the rear brake) or if it's the traction control. I've only really tried it in road and sports mode though. I tried the drop the clutch technique which scares the shit out of me and it just feels like it goes into warp speed with no wheel lift. Any tips?

Sooo which Streets come with the bar end mirrors and which ones don’t? I just picked up a 2019 R and has the regular mirrors.
@Zeggawong6 жыл бұрын
Took one for a test ride today. Anyone know if there's any way to remove the delay on the fly by wire throttle? Removing traction control made a huge difference but it still fucking sucks. Makes blipping and rev matching on downshifts a whole lot less fun too. Definitely no anti wheelie when traction controls off, gave it some in second gear and front wheel came up instantly. I definitely didn't find the suspension too stiff on the RS, felt awesome on the tight bumpy hills roads I took it on.
