That rear luggage rack is very smart. Non suspended weight needs to be as little as possible!

I went through the exact same calculation when I was choosing between the Delite and the Super Delite. For that rare time I may want to go more than 35 miles in the hills (basically never) I could just buy a second battery and toss it my pannier. The rest of the time - nearly all the time - I enjoy the lighter bike. I have the exact same bike as you except mine is an HS, and I love it!

Is your real world range about 35 miles?
@james-p Жыл бұрын
@@cadriver2570 Yes, with a mix of Eco, Tour, and Sport modes. Only occasional Turbo. With the Rohloff, I can gear down rather than power up. But if I ran Sport and Turbo all the time, no.

Dan, at least you're honest. Lovely bike.

The one thing you forgot to mention was the lock that comes with it. It’s an Abus, but can you discuss if it’s a gold secure one or not. It’s a good idea to have insurance for these and if they’re locked up somewhere insurance companies require a certain level of lock security.

I had a Delite II, but arthritis had me sell it and replace it with a Homage with the electric gear change. I would prefer the manual changer. Nice bike though.

Is there anything you would spec differently next time? I love how feature packed they are, but I would be thinking about adding Varia radar. Have you added accessories?

i think you went through a doggs waste with the front tyre :p at 0:43 you even zoomed in on that sorry to point that out.

Hey Dan, Thanks for your R&M Delight review. Question: what is the name/make/model of the pannier on your Delight? It looks perfect for my needs - room for a laptop, paper notebook and jacket.

Hi Mark, that's a Vaude Aqua Back Rear Pannier. Great pannier, perfect for chucking essentials in.

But you could take one of the batteries out of a two-battery Riese & Muller to make it lighter.

my 8 y/o Haibike 14ah battery is still good for close to 50 miles on Eco setting. That 650 has to be 75ish??? Who is going to ride more than that? (yes,I know some people DO ride centuries and more, but % wise? 1% ? (probably not that high). People get quite silly with the whole range thing. People that haven't ridden a bike in 10 years but they pay extra for the long range setup. ;)

Shouldn't the stronger mt5s be on the rear rather than the front ??
@EDEMOElectricBikes6 ай бұрын
No. The more powerful brake calipers are always fitted to the front. If you brake hard on the rear wheel it locks up. If you brake hard on the front wheel, all the weight is transfered forward, you don't loose traction and you can scrub a lot of speed fast :)

3:55 It's really poor that such an expensive system refuses to allow you to mix units, eg: Celsius with Miles... If you want C you get km & kmh if you want Miles you get Fahrenheit - NO EXCEPTIONS! This is fine for EU or USA but sux in the UK..

Ah that'll be Dan not setting his up! You can change this to however you prefer it.

what an ugly luggage rack, geez...!
@EDEMOElectricBikes5 ай бұрын
It definitely divides people but it works brilliantly, taking the weight on the rack off the rear wheel and putting it on the frame.
