Too many fragile electrics on a bike that’s not well sealed to the elements. I imagine it’s one of those that only lasts the warranty period

With a specialized motor on their bikes the cable locks in. Bosch should be doing this too.

So the bike weighs about 28 kg, an average person about 75 kg plus 5 kg luggage Dat is rufly 100 kg at most, and the weight premition is about 140 max, so the battery has the work very hard to keep up with all Dat weight and weather conditions, and the charging the battery cost... For me personally not worthed, I rather wake you early, a'd have spare time than rush rush cause the bike can go fast fast 🙄🙄🙄 how many more people has to die?

R&M makes the best looking e-bikes but the Bosch motor was too loud and the new pinion motor might be just as loud or louder. Bikes are not supposed to sound like an RC car or a swarm of bees. Stromer has the best setup with the gearless quiet dependable motor in the rear but it’s wildly overpriced and not available in USA anymore, Stromer pulled out of USA (nobody was buying them for 10k USD)

Dan.great review! I have the Homarge 4 , Step-through, GT roilloff 14 gear, dual battery and ABS. Its a fantastic bike. Probably the safest and best made avaliable. I need your help? I need a bike carrier for my towbar on my Tesla. It must clamp safley to the Homarge 4. I Have tested and returned all of the Thule ones; non that ive looked at online can clamp it securley. The H4 has no cross bar and a very thick bar with the dual batteries. Most bike towbar carriers need you to lift the bike to place it on the racktrack. At 74 with a heart condition I need a roll-up track bar to load the bike. Many have this but again the H4 ebike has GT tyres that need wide track roll-ups and it is very heavy. I hope you have come across this already and look forward to seeing if you can track down an answer before spring! Thanks Graham.

Have you ver tested the UBN touring with Shimano Deore, 11-Gang Kettenschaltung ? Maybe this is more fair to compare? I'd be super interested, if UBN five is than easier to climb mountains.

Is the second battery provided with a lock ? So one key can lock the whole unit?

weighted my bosch CX gen4 750wh battery brand new 4120grams fyi 4.12Kgs 61.76km 1623m climb/descent used 56% of it at 9°C temp (winter) 60% on eco rest in tour+ (most of flat and descent in OFF) this had a nasty 13-20% slope climb for 5.5km with no respite, if you stick to mostly eco you can easily do 100km with a new 750wh battery that said on another ride I did what I knew was impossible on legs it's 200m ascent slope up to 47% had to do it on emtb and it drained 7% just for that so the cost of extreme climbs is high I did 20km of flat in off/eco and used 3% vs 0.4km hard climb 7%

This bike is great, it's a pity you can't buy it in our country

I wonder since the belt drive connects the rear wheel to crank and no freewheeling on the rear wheel, if pinion can make a version where when you activate the brakes, it will regenerate energy to help recover the battery like an EV to extend range. Up to now, only hub motor ebike can regenerate, but with this design, regenerate might be possible with mid drive. That would be what I would be waiting for.

What about if you have a presta valve? Do you take the top part off like Shrader? Also I read that this is just a temporary fix and the makers recommend getting the slime off the tyre within 3 days or 100 miles? Is that right ?

It's a minor point but I love the absence of welding on the front. So much more attractive. Wish they'd dome the same with the rear triangle but we're getting there....

I own the single battery version - the R&M Delite. I’ve had it for over two years. This electric bike has transformed my life. I use it every day. It’s my transport. It’s also a pleasure giver. I see things I wouldn’t have seen and go on paths I couldn’t have driven on, and make journeys I wouldn’t have taken. The running costs are effectively non existent and as it lasts for ever, depreciation is negligible. The time it takes from A to B in towns is faster than a car. I also pack wet/cold weather gear at all times for contingency and two locks for security insurance, I carry loads like shopping etc easily. I’ve got anti puncture tyre liners, it’s got great lights, brake lights and mirror so it’s safe and and can travel trails home in pitch black safely. This bike is smooth, reliable, comfortable and a real pleasure to ride and own. Yes, it’s a significant investment, but you get the point, ‘buy cheap, buy twice’, but when you make a change to one car plus eBike, your total transport costs are significantly reduced. I would heartily recommend investing in one of these bikes and am happy to share my experiences with it. Thank you and god luck.

Kudos for the lightest unsprung mass on rear wheel of all bikes with rear rack. Now halve the price, reduce the weight by at least 5 kg and then it may become the perfect e-bike.
