It's so cool to see the old timers and the knowledge they posses . This is a dying art. And it is art. A smooth running balanced motor sounds like Mozart to me. Thanks again for sharing . God speed

always a pleasure to see a WL build video. Im currently working on the engine of my 49 WL, how thick is the bearing race dimension in the case? I'm using a 0.098 and a 0.102 washers on my crankshaft and wonder if the case bearing races have been worn down but i do not know the stock thickness

Great Video! It Helped Me A Lot. Only Thing, According to My Book, the Fiber Washer on the Generator Idler Gear Should be on the Cover Side. Thanks for Posting...!!

Hello Rie............ I have a 1975 XR750 that is being restored. Can you tell me about cam bearings you would use? I'm looking for info on Manufacture and grade of bearings. Thank you. Regards

I hope you can help. The cam cover was chromed many years ago and the flutter valve that allows oil from the breather tube reservoir back into the crankcase is frozen solid. Have you ever replaced / repaired one?

Hi Charles, we just filmed a Q&A today and answered your question - the video will be up in a few weeks so stay tuned!

Thank you for the video. I was wondering, do I need to check the clearance between the generator pinion and the driving pinion located in the timing cover? (There are a few paper shims between the generator and the housing on my one). I noticed that you had the timing cover bolted on prior to fitting the generator.

Did Ash take apart the flywheel and connecting rods in this rebuild? Or did he deem that assembly good to go without having to take it apart? Thanks!

Question for Ash the Mighty, what’s the highest mileage vehicle he’s had and what’s the most miles on a vehicle he’s worked on? My currant work truck is 362,000kms and my older farm truck that’s in the shop for some attention has 441,000kms
