Thanks David! Hopefully we can even improve on that in the next weeks 😬

I am going to Rietvlei this Saturday and this video just gave me confidence for my fishing trip. If I may ask what depth where your guys catching them on?

Hey Sascha, I would say around 2m, the spot we were at gets deeper very gradually, other spots especially on the bend is a lot deeper. But just a word of advice, Rietvlei gets very busy over weekends and you definitely won't have much of a choice in terms of spots, that's why we generally go in the week. It's probably pretty full already I think. Your best shot is to get there as early as possible to fish the spots that was left open by Friday's carp fishermen (who didn't stay the night). Lots of those will be filled up early on Saturday 😬

Hi Rowland, we have never seen a single kurper there ourselves but we know others have caught them. We'll try your tips next time we stay there. Thanks a lot!

Hi bro is this dam catch and release pls tell me 😊

Hi Michael, no it's not strictly catch & release, we see lots of people taking fish. But like us, most people always release them, especially the bigger ones. They must get even bigger for next year 😬

Oh ok cool. But just some friendly advice I've got from others in the past. It might be dangerous to do that, there might be parasites etc. on these dam fish. It's maybe better to just get them from a fishery like the one at Hartebeespoort. But who knows, it might be perfectly fine 😃
