Yeah, it was very popular. At night you can hear thousands of frogs making a huge noise, so horny toads was a no-brainer :-)

Hi there. Thank you so much for the awesome SA content. My friends and I are currently planning a trip and considering this venue. Unfortunately I only have a sedan and no bakkie or 4x4. Could you please advise on the condition of the dirt road and if it would be possible in my vehicle? I understand that road is quite long so just want to make sure before I plan further.
@Anglinks5 ай бұрын
Hi Zaheer, thank you! You won't be sorry going to Erkhamka, some of the best accommodation at the Vaal River. The road is definitely bumpy in patches but you don't need a 4x4, it's a standard dirt road with rocky bits. It might be a bit more tricky if it's been raining but you should still be fine. And it's around 20km, so should take you no more than 30mins. The only downside is if you want to go to Parys for lunch during your stay, that becomes a bit of a drive...
@zaheerbangie53055 ай бұрын
@@Anglinks thank you so much for the information. Just some clarity... Isn't Erkhamka and The river House 2 different venues? I'm enquiring about the river House specifically. But glad you gave information about Erkhamka as that is one of my considerations as well lol

Hi there. On that day we only fished from the boat, but we saw lots of people fishing from the camping area. And according to reports it's really good fishing too :-)

Only problem is that short rods and centre-pin reels are no longer used, which makes playing the fish too easy. ..

Hi Anglinks. Took the newish boat to Bronkies yesterday. First weigh-able fishies caught on my new boat. One of 1.2 and one of just shy of 1kg. Thanks for showing this dam on your channel.

And also you guys should try Tolderia resort in Mpumalanga,we caught like 50 bass and a PB, but i think you have to stay or they might allow day visitors.
@Anglinks8 ай бұрын
Hey Rishen, this is definitely a really good venue for bass but there are no carp in the lake in front of the cabins. But if you're happy to drive to the spot at Ebenezer Dam (on the same farm) and set up only for the day, then I think this is the place for you, we saw lots of massive carp there...

Hi Anglinks. i appreaciate your video sharing,. always nice to see new fishing places on the vaal river,. We were intruduced to a new place that is called von du Rust. Please can you go and visit,, weve been there for 3 days sponserd by Hengelreise, Magic baits and VOn du Rust itself, and we had a unforgettable experience at Von du Rust, We caught 49 fish,,,, in this 3days and all between 6-12kgs, They are so friendly and also always have assitance when needed, This is really a very good place to try out, Myself, my wife and my 2 kids have caught the most and biggest fish for those 3 days. Best that we had in a very long time. Everyone should try this fishing spot, and looking forward to meet more fishing friends,. Regards Arrie

Hi Arrie, I think we know exactly where that is. The River House where we stayed in this video is also in Renovaal, right next to Von Durust. That is a very good section of the river, some really big fish there! We'll try to visit them soon, we just need to save up again :-)

It was incredibly fun watching you catch fish, so thank you everyone involved in this small spectacle. I have a feeling that kayak fishing might not be a good idea in these waters, so for the time being, we accept De Hoop Dam, which is located a few hundred kilometers to the southeast of Arabie. Fishing is great here too ...
@Anglinks11 ай бұрын
Hi George, thank you very much! Yes, Arabie is definitely not suitable for kayaks, just too many huge crocs. We haven't been to De Hoop yet, we couldn't find suitable accommodation there, but we hope to visit it next year some time. Happy fishing :-)
