Rietvlei Dam 2021 Vlog 3 - biggest one yet, water very low...

Our third visit to Rietvlei Dam this season. We caught our biggest one yet, a feisty, healthy 1.6kg bass but the session was cut short by some unexpected weather (stupid Windguru).
The water level has dropped even more and you can now walk around the reeds which is weird. There are almost no more spots anymore, just one long bank.

Yes the weather always always does that when we FISHING ,I guess we both right bec i will never forget my 1 fishing tripe to albert falls and that same day New Hangover had a tornado and the dam was like the sea ,like a high tide gosh I THOUGHT I was going to die my friend and I run to our car n left our rods and our keep net at the water n our car was spinning 360 degrees with the heavy winds ,I seriously thought I was going to die n when it was all finished ,guess the tornado pass by then n the sun came out SO LOVELY n when we walked down to get our rods N everything was gone😭

I remember that, we were in the Midlands when that tornado happened, hectic stuff. That is probably the worst possible time to have been at Alberts, you have the same luck as us I guess :-) Too bad about your gear though... But yes at least you have an awesome story to tell!

Hi Milan. Yes you can definitely use jerkbaits, they are currently also working very well. The guy we've been fishing with use jerkbaits a lot and he's caught many.
