7:25 They did make The Lord of the Rings show to make money; just not directly from the show. The way The Lord of the Rings show makes Amazon money is by putting people on the platform. When people are on the platform they're more likely to want to shop or see something that they've browsed before or see something that they possibly may want. Not only that, it's a way of pushing the Prime subscription onto new customers to build their subscription base. Now it may just be that somebody subscribes for just the one month to watch The Lord of the Rings show but they may see additional benefits of continuing to have that subscription after seeing the show. Seeing that they now have this subscription they may further want to make additional purchases on Amazon now that they're getting free shipping and other perks that come with having a prime membership. The show can be a money loser but a profit system for Amazon.

5:33 People have to stop saying that Amazon has all this money so they should be able to pay for [...]. Amazon as a totality has a lot of money. But Amazon on the production side of it has a specific amount of money that's allocated to it. Think of it like this Walmart as a company has a lot of money. But the local Walmart you go to has a set amount of funds that it has to work with. That local Walmart doesn't have access to all the capital that the Wal-Mart company has access to. It's the same thing with the production side of Amazon. It doesn't have access to all the capital that Amazon as a whole has access to. it has a set budget that it has to work with it. If these budgets aren't controlled since Amazon has its hand in so many things, if every single hand starts pulling unlimited amount of money out of Amazon then Amazon soon will have no money because it doesn't have control over it's funds on a more micro level.
