Oh nice. The Thumbelina version. The fun thing about this movie was when they (meaning Rifftrax) unearthed and remastered a completely different version of this film that featured a nightmare about Jack and The Beanstalk instead. So you could watch it twice and be horrified by two different bad local theater productions of classic children's stories. Although, I would argue of the two this is the "better" one.

@@HungryForTastyFoodAndComicArt what's funny about that one is that it's one of the more accurate book to screen adaptations. Although they did give Pumpkinhead seasonal affective disorder for some reason (but when your head has a very short shelf life, who can blame him?)

@@CinnamonGrrlErin1 I'm all for the accuracy, and in fact would love a lavish budget version ala "The Wiz" from the 70's (the stage version which I was lucky enough to see, not the film). In fact I'd prefer it to the Garland version. My aggravation with "Wonderful Land of Oz" is not with the content, but the execution, especially the often-incompetent audio-work. And the lad, whom seems to have snuck into his mum's hidden stash of valium.

Honestly, it kind of reminds me of the silent film Oz movies a little bit, which would be equally nightmarish if they were in full color

I don't know if it's due to post vaccine chills, my tendonitis acting up, or 4am insomnia, but I have never uncomfortably (but gloriously) hyena laughed this hard at a Rifftrax, ever. The entire Thumbelina mole people storyline is a rich, terrifying, joker-grin enhancing laugh attack. Mr. Digger and the enabling, gaslighting Mrs. Mole are seared into my brain. Thank...you?

Only 10 minutes in, and I already have tears in my eyes. 6:43: “please don’t interrupt our violent homoerotic play, Santa.” 8:42: “dinner’s getting away, whack it with an oar” 9:33: “glad you made it…and, kid!” I thought this had to be one of those weird educational videos from *insert 20th century decade here*…but it’s an hour and a half long. This was an actual film??! I feel like I’m being punked. And that’s coming from someone who watched the Star Wars Holiday Special last night.
