I love this show. It could be confusing but going back and watching the whole thing made it easier to follow. 1-6 a clear plan which was pretty neat to see unfold, especially once you saw it all once and could go back to see how they went from episode 1 to the final one. Just from the pilot alone you can see the bare bones aspects of the characters they grew into, as well as the meaningful two sides comment. "One is dark, one is light." From what I gather, people who say the show is terrible typically fall into the camps of either not understanding it, or not liking what it ended up being about. Which is okay, because everyone has their preferences. But I'm sure we can all agree these guys are hilarious.

I mean to be fair, he barely had anything to do with the show haha.. it's damon lindelof and carlton cruise He produced the pilot I'll happily blame him for turning trek into mindless action shlock, although Rian Johnson ruined the new star wars trilogy, force awakens was fine But Lost is a good show haha The ending is meh but all the way up until that is damn quality TV

I just remember season 2 sort of showing massive cracks-especially the addition of Michelle Rodriguiez. TV channels in the UK ended up giving the show away-to smaller, cheaper channels-mainly because the ratings nosedived after season 2.

It was, basically, because fans had amazing and on-point theories. Showrunners got angry fans guessed correctly, leading to them getting more and more wacky, and then not even tying up plot strings to prove the fans 'wrong.' Hubris and money. Makes ya stupid.

George Orwell well you can't really have an opinion without having seen it.. seasons 1-5 are great tv, and about nothing..? what? it has some of the best foreshadowing, build up and mysteries of any show. the Dharma hatches, time travel, the smoke monster, it's all great. and the ending was kind of meh, I want really a fan but that doesn't invalidate the entire tv show

crimsontowers Was any of the monsters explained in this show. What took the captain in the plane? What was the smoke monster? What was the hatch?

Rafael Trivino yeah all of that was explained by seasons 2 and 3, mostly, save smoky. Smoke monster yoinked the pilot out, it's an ancient entity from the roman era which is in constant conflict with the deity of the island Jacob. He was his brother that got thrown into the heart of the island, exposed to the electromagnetism and turned into an intangible being that can turn into dead people, hence most of the apparitions on the island. The hatch was a Dharma intiative testing station originally designed for research but after a nuclear incident involving the main cast it was designed to keep the leaking electromagnetic energy from detonating by having the button pushed.
