Useful videos are always appreciated. When I got my new to me M1 Garand from the CMP earlier this year I was a bit dismayed to discover that the bolt was from another M1 compared to the 6-digit serial number (December 1941 SA) on the receiver. Someone had engraved that other SN onto the bolt. I jeweled that bolt and it looks terrific! Many thanks. I wound up using a focusing rail from my photography hobby to be able to leave a consistent pattern. The small brushes worked for me, and used some heat shrink tubing to tighten up the spread of the SS wires. With a small amount of diamond dust impregnated grease as a lapping compound ,it took about fifteen minutes.

I have found once the method and setup is done it goes pretty quick. What did you use to clean the cutting compound off? I've used purple power, WD40, and Free-All rust penetrant to good success.
