I agree .I have given music a chance for the last few years and I cannot seem to emotionally attach myself to any new band or artist, it’s all garbage music. Bands like Linkin Park, Stone Temple pilots, Audioslave, 30 seconds to Mars, Nirvana, hell even Avril Lavigne holds more weight in my heart and I keep flocking back to them. A lot of people (especially teenagers) feel out of control because of their depression. Self harm is a form of pain that they can control. But that's a misguided notion, because self harm quickly becomes an addiction and they lose control of it as well. Others cut because they want to feel something. Depression can cause a people to feel empty and cutting/burning/etc helps them prove to themselves that they're alive.
