Hey Chris, still loving the channel. Thank you. I worked in retail sales for over 30 years, from budget gear to really high ticket value goods and I could bore for Britain with all the crazy customer tales I could tell: from being held at gun point to proposals of marriage. Actually, that might have been the same person 😳

Hi Chris, love your straightforward honesty when dealing with queries. As a hobby builder I'd love to spend some time shadowing you in the workshop to soak up some of your amp wizardry😊

Hey Chris, Consider getting a decent size turntable (Lazy Susan) for use. it will make the one handed video shooting or repairs and moving things around soooooooo much easier. I use one for build and demo. Haven't you ever wanted to move your amp stand a bit? Say more to the left or right while soldering? Or a complete 180 degree? Mine has a diameter of 24" and works great for all size chassis, combo amp or just about anything you want to manipulate on the X Y axis

I built a Modulus 5E3 tubes up head. Sounded amazing! I built a black suede / Vox cloth head cab - ally piping and Hiwatt style nameplate. I wonder where it is now?

The Modulus kit looks interesting. I can resist everything except temptation. Cheers from Scotland.

The Modulus kits are great and the company great to work with, really helpful

The new camera angle means we can no longer see when the Mysterons are scanning your workshop through the window!

Pcb board amps can last awhile. My Peavey Classic and Delta blues are Pcb built and from the 90’s. Well worth the $400 and $300 I paid for em.

Regarding the missing amps: maybe the buyer has a custom order in with another builder and simply followed up with the wrong one? Otherwise, sounds scammy.

Did you build or buy that chassis jig/cradle? If you built it, can you provide a few details on how you went about it? Thanks, love the channel.

I just sold a Hiwatt SA212 (combo version of the Dr504) I would love to build that Modulus Kit. The thing about those 2 amps that he called after 19 month asking about the delivery. Did they have to sign for them when they were delivered? These days here in the US shipping companies just drop stuff of without signatures.

How's the chassis ground done on the Cornford given the painted interior? I assume it's the earth running from the IEC to the tag strip and through the tag strip mounting bolts? US thing - it might have been delivered to the wrong address by the courier and signed for by whoever lived there. As to why the customer didn't contact you sooner - maybe wealthy enough to not be that bothered about a long lead time. Do you send customers an email when the amps are built and ready for shipping or a tracking reference? That would at least trigger a customer to be expecting a package!

Hi Chris, thanks for another great video but did you change your KZbin ad settings at all? There were quite a few more ad breaks than typical for some reason.
@RiftAmps17 күн бұрын
I haven’t changed them, just run whatever the stock settings are. I’ll have a look to see if they’ve changed BUT a longer video will always have more ad breaks

Further update: I've looked into this and YT places more ads at certain times of the year (Black Friday and Christmas seem to be v.popular). I've manually removed some and will keep an eye on future videos.

Chris, thinking about books about guitar amps - is there one you would recommend. PS amp (non) delivery from 19 months ago - be very careful.

Possibly a stupid question from a noob. Are the artificial centre tap resistor supposed to be 0.5w because they're 'fusable resistors' and I'm guessing these are supposed to burn up in the event of a short to protect the transformer? If they're rated at 5w would that defeat the object of having them?

I'm getting YT ad breaks every few minutes, for things I have no interest in. Perhaps it's because your channel is getting more popular. I don't know if there is anything you can do about it, but thought I would let you know.

I don't think I really understand what the issue was with the PCB amp that the person wanted converted to hand wired. PCB amps aren't inherently less reliable (or gigable?) than hand wired. And they said they liked the amp. So best case scenario, they spend a lot of time/money to get to the same place they were at before.

We don't know what amp it is, so could well have been an absolute b'stard!

Ive been watching you for sometime now, i still dont get it why you select a particular thumbnail with a specific amp or title, then ramble on another amp at first. Taking up majority of the time for an amp i didnt clicked for.

Why not try reading the video description, where the format and ethos of my channel is clearly explained? :)

@@RiftAmpsi didnt mean to be rude. I was just hoping to see more of the amp that you featured.
