I plan to get here in September 2021, will be hoping for clear skies to shoot astrophotography at night as well as take in the view. Thanks for uploading this.

Nice and informative video! We are going there in September 2020 - it says at the Rifugio Locatelli website that the bookings for 2020 are only open in mid Feburary 2020....so we can't book yet. Hope to be able to get a room and witness the sunsets and sunrise from there. Based on your experience, do you think it is possible to hike up before dawn, or down after sunset using light from head torches, if we fail to get a room?

Hi, Yes it is very much possible .The hike is not that tough..We did Sorapiss after this hike. But I would still suggest at least spend a night there.. And I am sure you will able to get a room in September. It is low season. We went there in July and booked the room in May but still managed to get the beds in Dormitory. Rifugio has private rooms too but for that you should try to book as soon as possible..It was such an amazing experience!!!
