@@MaestroJericho man, that's a fun "what-if". If he stayed with Krank, would the company even have folded? His sgar power may have been enough to keep it afloat longer. They certainly were popular when they came out. Maybe he would have done a reissue to the Randall Century 200? Lots of unknowns, that sadly, will never be answered, but it's an interesting thought.

@@ryanmounce2850 Would’ve never happened. PRS is a traditional company. The goal was to make a guitar that took the best elements from strats and Les Pauls. For example, the same mahogany, maple top and dual humbuckers of the LP, the dual cutaways and longer scale length of the strat and 24 frets for good measure. In the 90s PRS didn’t even have the Singlecut. The released it 2000. Before that it was just Custom 24, Custom 22, McCarty, the Santana models and the special super expensive Dragon models. No S2, no SE. Just USA guitars. I was really surprised when Paul decided to make Mayer a strat. Purely a business decision to take some market share away from Fender and it worked!

Can I play this amp at low Volume without getting killed by my neighbours?
@richardshank7659
@richardshank7659 3 жыл бұрын
@@richardstreyer4342 i own one. The answer is yes but no lol sounds goofy but what I mean is yes it can do low volume even on 15 watt setting. However the way the volume knob to the gain channel works is very touchy in the low volumes. You have to barely tap it to adjust it to a suitable volume anything more than just giving it a quick tap and it’s 0-100 in no time. Of course having a 1x12 helps a lot I run mine through a 4x12 and while it sounds nice it makes that low volume trick with tapping it even more sensitive. I will add though that it still sounds massive at low volumes. Some amps sound thin and wimpy on low volumes but this ones great. Highly recommend hope that helped!

Bought one of these ~3 months ago. It does sound like a boosted amp, but with a boost in front of the 'boosted' amp it gains a whole new character. If you do pick up your own, a screamer like my OD-808 gives the amplifier an insanely unique, tight, and mid-forward characteristic that is almost mandatory for an amp with such a dry distortion. Definitely recommend you try it out again once you get the opportunity! Great work as always.

The amp sounded so good with the 6 string guitar and the whole time after you mentioned how the guitar was slipping off your leg I was then thinking oh man I hope he grabs one of his guitars to hear it with. Then you grabbed the 7 string and WOW. The sound was so aggressive and mean yet with so much clarity I was blown away. Thank you for that awesome playing! As a poor guitarist who lost all his gear from addiction I cleaned up my life and contacted Solar guitars thanking Ola for all the inspiration he gave from years of watching his videos and asked for a free guitar and they laughed at me and said if they gave me a guitar they would have to give everyone who asked a free guitar. Was devastated. Miss playing riffs.

I bought this thing as soon as I found out it had full size power tubes in it and got a chance to play one. It's by far the biggest sounding lunchbox high gain amp I've ever played. I've never had any interest in lunch box amps prior to this one because everyone I played with EL84s always started to fall apart way too soon in terms of volume, starts losing tightness and clarity.. and that always turned me off from them. The MT15 doesn't have that issue at all. It's definitely not a 15 watt amp, more like 20-25 watts and it gets ripping loud. Loud enough through a 2x12 to hang with a metal drummer in a small rehearsal space, while retaining all of it's tonal qualities and not starting to fall apart on itself. Such a great portable little rig. All I use with it is a Precision Drive and an ISP Decimator. Great thing is you can find these things used for as little as $400 and in great shape. Highly worth it. If they release the MT100 and it falls in the same price range as 6505s and EVH 5153 50 watts, I'll be stoked.

I plugged into one of these last week for about 5 mins. I was blown away by how loud it was for "15"watts. I didn't get to the 9 o'clock position before it was plenty loud. I was playing through the matching cab as well. Now I must have one! Haha. I think I'll be bringing one home this week. I've glanced over at the amp for awhile at a local shop. I never thought to give it a try as I'm not a huge Tremonti fan. I'm not saying he isn't a great player, just never came up on my radar. I wasn't expecting much when I sat down and plugged into it. I was trying to kill some time while waiting for the manager of the store (friend of mine). I grabbed an E-II Eclipse off the wall to check out. The guitar was pretty good, but the amp stole my attention right away. Couldn't believe it at first. Excellent amp, 9/10 would recommend.

***Be careful! I bought a first run version of that amp, and in the 15 watt setting it had a bad hum/buzz in the lead channel. After running it through a few different circuits to negate a bad power situation, and also a ground lift, I then checked for tube harmonics, none of which solved the problems. I checked online in some of the forums etc, and found a lot of complaints about this problem which seemed to be associated to the first batch that came from china. There's no doubt that PRS has taken care of that problem, and will fix the amps free of charge if your the original owner, but beware if buying second hand, or old stock that's been around the music store for a while.

I use this amp with a Harley Benton G212 Vintage. If you’re willing to have it ship from Thomann, it’s a killer $200 2x12 cab with Celestion vintage 30’s. They have a vertical 2x12 and a 4x12 too I believe, all insanely cheap

There's a maximum power you can get from particular tubes but you can design any output lower than this by using a lower voltage/different output transformer etc. A 'power-scaled' 6L6 amp can go down to milliwatts with its voltage power control set low.

Can't say how many times I watched this video while considering the MT15. Definitely a f**k ton. As always Ola makes the amp sound fantastic. But in this case it's not just Ola. The MT15 actually lives up to the hype. I picked up one of the newer 5881 tubed versions and it sounds mean as hell. After playing through 5150's for the last 25 years or so I wouldn't have thought I would be so immediately impressed. But I am. I have my MT15 paired with an Avatar Contemporary 2x12 loaded with Hellatone 60's and it's a little beast of an amp. And I agree with Ola. The MT15 doesn't need a boost. Not unless you prefer that type of tone/feel. The amp is plenty saturated and pretty damn tight. In fact I run the pre-amp gain at 12:00 when I ran my 5150 II gain at 1-2:00. And the MT15 seems as tight and percussive as the 5150 II within it's useable volume range. Which is as loud as everyone says. Definitely loud enough to gig with. It's a killer little amp.

This right here, this amps is the most massive sounding mini head I’ve EVER played. And it does not need a boost, but I do put a TS9 and a ISP Decimator Mini just because I like that chunky, staccato-y sound but man this is such a good high gain amp. Although I have the 6l6 version but still this amp is sick no matter what.

Hey, they are coming out with a MT 100 in the near future. My thought on the quality sound the 15 puts out is because Mark Tremonti is a rock guy more leaning toward heavy metal and he actually spent the time working with PRS in the R&D department so this Amp would be a quality piece.
