Saw this just minutes after I got an email saying that my SE standard will be delivered tomorrow - my first PRS and I'm very excited
@daviddarko26654 жыл бұрын
I just bought one of those myself! My first PRS as well. Only thing I don't like is the floating trem. I did buy locking tuners and changed all the cream color hardware to black. New Graph Tech nut and Graph Tech saddles..... smokin now! 😁 I spent quite a bit in upgrades but man...... this guitar is a BADASS! LOVE IT!
@TheReliableBeacon4 жыл бұрын
@@daviddarko2665 yeah I saw a fair number of reviews knocking it's tuning stability so I'm willing to make the same sort of upgrades if needed! Which finish did you go for? I've gone for the trans blue and after reading your comment I can imagine it looks absolutely sick with black hardware!
@EverythingisFire4 жыл бұрын
@@TheReliableBeacon I miss my Standard SE. It felt surprisingly well compared to my more expensive Fender Strat. I believe the tuning is pretty stable with the 9's it comes with but mine didn't care to stay in tune with 10's. An upgraded nut will help.

My first PRS was also an SE Standard and it's still one of my favorite guitars. I've since added an SE SVN and a CE 24.

I never thought this guitar could chug so well. I mean it is an original kind of of chug but it is quite pleasing. Most demos are blues demos which I don’t mind but can get tiring, it’s nice to see a PRS in a more metal context. Reminds me of the early 2000’s :) awesome playing as always!

Wow ola! First PRS on the channel?? Ive had my SE Custom 24 since Christmas last year and its great. I live about 45 minutes from the stevensville factory and have met Paul and we talked. I had to send my SE to the factory twice cause the first time they needed to buff out some cracking in the binding on the fretboard around it and then I had to send it back the day I got it back cause there was a quarter sized chip next to the bottom strap button. They fixed it in about a month and it looks like nothing ever happened!! I love PRS Guitars and I am so happy with them!! One thing I would want to get is the MT15. I need something good and ive played through it and it sounds great. Just wish there was reverb in it too

I don't really come for the gear, I wanna hear Ola doing some improvised leads. I know he doesn't want to be considered as a lead guitarist as he is technically not up with the field, but man he gets me every time. He tends to gravitate towards those sophisticated 80s jazz/rock fusion chords which he indirectly inherited from Dream Theater, chooses to play over them with Loomis-style minor/diminished scales to add sorrow and throws in Dimebag-esque bends on pentatonic notes for balls and mojo. This one song at the beginnig has more soul than 5 Malmsteen albums combined. I guess this is the fucking future. Past generations have favourite albums and we'll have favourite gear review posts.

@@13guitard00d I knew but thanks, I appreciate it. That song has been crafted to perfection. There are no meaningless notes in there and everything is accentuated at the right place. Less is more. Ola is the B.B. King of metal lead guitar :) If I remember correctly, when this song came out the KZbin video had a kitten in it and a lot of goofy shit like that. I honestly believe this is Ola's defense mechanism to avoid serious criticism or to be compared to well known pro virtuosos, because he put his heart and soul in that song and it's his proudest work to date. Maybe I'm reading too much into him at this point and I'm way too off, who knows.

I heard the PRS MT 100 Head is finished, and will be coming out very soon.. Also if I remember the MT 15 has a lot of hum and hiss. My buddy had a NoiseGate in the effects loop, and another one in the front of the Amp, and that seemed to work great. Can't wait for the new EVH Stealth lbx 15 watt head to come out in the next couple days I heard. It's basically a clone of the MT 15 with the LED lights when changing channels. That will be a good shootout...🤘

Mine doesn't hiss or hum whatsoever. It does however pop when being turned off. If he got his early on when they came out, or from somewhere that stocked an early one, there was a dodgy batch for sure, i was paranoid about getting one of those myself. But yeah mine doesn't hiss, none of the ones i tried hissed or hummed. Maybe he has an early batch one.

I bought one based on Ola's last vid on it and it was a massive disappointment. Super noisy even on fucking standby. I have my Triple Recto plugged into the same outlet and it is dead quiet so it's not dirty power. Buyer beware. I sent it back to Sweetwater. This was in February of this year.

I got an MT15 about 6 months ago, and I absolutely love it! No hum or hiss/noise issues at all. I've been playing 30 years, currently own 19 guitars and 8 amps. The only time I've had issues with hum or hiss is from certain guitars, and will carry with those guitars from amp to amp. This has been my experience and it's always been some type of wiring and/or grounding issue with that particular guitar. I see a few people here mentioning the noise, just another possibility to consider. \m/

I have one. The pickups are very bassless on the E and A strings per design to cover for the flubbyness of the mahogany in that register. It's perfect for studio work, recording and shit, but I changed them to JB and Jazz for more ballz. It's a very well balanced guitar that sounds unique. Not as an SG or a Strat. Just balanced as Ola is saying. The ergonomy and quality are the main selling points here. Dead on!
