Rig Rundown: Hendrix Vibes on the FM9

Been playing the Helix this week and its equally as good as anything out there.

My buddy has the Helix and let me mess with it. I think the Cab section is a little weak, but it's a great bargain getting it used. There's no way you could convince me to drop $1500 on old technology, but snagging one for $600-800 used may be the way to go for a lot of people.

@@damionandy yes its been out for awhile but the "technology" holds true still today. Its component modeling and Line 6 has updated the cabs and amp models over the years and even released their own amp models. I am not a fan boy by any means but I know great tone when I hear it and after owning all the modeling units the only thing the Helix is lacking in is DSP for certain types of presets but the tones are certainly there.

Still happy with my decision to go TMP... love the fractal sound. I just don't think I have the capacity or the ear to have so many settings options that fractal has.

Haha I understand this! I honestly think all modern modelers are great. Tone is in the hands. If you’re spending $1500 on a modeler and you think it sucks, you probably should’ve spent $1500 on lessons instead. We’re living in the golden age of guitar. Imagine how much it would’ve cost to own this gear just 20 years ago
