The interviewer usually is fine... Could be just me, but he seemed to be a bit disruptive when Carl was explaining things.

the interviewer is disruptive and has a poor grasp of the English Language. It's ok to be a little "rock n roll" but at the end of the day there needs to be a sense that you are professional and credible.. Just a point of advice: Narrow down the number of times you say "dude" and "cool" by 50% and I'd give this interview a solid 2/10.

+Eric SHarma Perry cut his teeth touring and playing in punk rock and hardcore bands, before he got his start in film. He worked his way up from lowly production assistant to become a producer, art director, and most recently, a music video director nominated for ACM, CMT, and CMA awards. Premier Guitar was a perfect fit for him, combining his two favorite things, guitars and cameras.

If you guys can at Premier Guitar, try to catch a band called Cult of Luna. They're doing a US tour starting September 1st in New York, then from then to the 9th in Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and West Hollywood, respectively. They're an awesome band, very unique, three guitarists and a bassist, so they have a lot of gear to check out. :)

Guitar players are always going on about tone. Well why limit your range of tones to what a simple guitar + fuzzbox can make?
@themack228 жыл бұрын
Can anyone put a price on this rig? I'm thinking $30K on the guitars alone (the ones we see). Always amazed at how musicians afford their arsenal. Sure, Carl is a member of a band that does pretty well, but I'd be willing to be he had half these axes before he was a member of MMJ.
@antipsychosoup6709 Жыл бұрын
In his early days with MMJ he only had the black Les Paul that he references as his #1 here. I think he added the P90 gold top around the time of Okonokos, which is when they really started breaking nationally. After that Evil Urges was nominated for a Grammy and they started playing huge festivals. That’s when the Duesenbergs and more Gibsons started showing up. I’m sure he didn’t have any problem affording them by that point, plus when you start playing stages that big in front of TV cameras gear manufacturers are more than happy to give you their stuff to play for free just for the advertising. Plus it’s all tax deductible as a business expense, which at that point makes gear about 40% cheaper.

I dig the Liftons for the shroud and history, yea. The chainsaw cases were bulletproof though. Great for touring. The story in this vid of a Les Paul falling out of the back of a truck is a good example and not the first I've heard involving the chainsaw cases saving somebody's ass.
