Premier Guitar thx for another great one. It would be great if you would address wireless routing in rig rundowns. I'm always curious how acts manage this and what their reasons are. I've toured with musicians that run one wireless and turn transmitter packs on and off, and others that have a wireless for each instrument and the switching is done via midi when presets are selected. In a rig like Ian's I'm curious how he handles guitar changes on the Radial JX44 since you can only have one channel on at a time. Thx again!

These "Rundowns" emphasize a important point,- it can be vital for even the most talented individuals to employ " that guy" that has spent their lifetime learning and understanding not only WHAT works, but WHY it works...or dosen't.Two different skill sets; met great players that could barely change their own strings.That right/ left lobe brain thing, in many cases.Every good live band has this guy , as a member, or as an employee.

@jjlovemusic4ever7 жыл бұрын
I read an article where he told the story and I immediately remembered this comment.It may not as fun as it sounded by this video but from a Gearphoria interview this is how it happened: "It was just really bad timing. The monitors engineer that had been with us since the beginning of the tour decided it was time to step away. So he left when we played our Staples (Center) show, which was pretty much a year to the day to our first show back in Hong Kong, and I just thought that, a year in, you should just have yout shit dialed and not be playing your hometown arena show, in front of all your parents friends, with a brand new monitors engineer. It was his first show. So I had a horrible show in LA at Staples. The second show, I soldiered through it but it was still really bad, and the third show with this guy one night, I just had enough and I kicked a monitor really hard."

Big fan of John's work, and really thought they were done when he stepped off, but got to say,- they just keep getting lucky.Watching Josh play live very much reminds me why I've played guitar my whole life; he's got the rare , magic mix of technical skill and out of the box creativity; maybe not as volatile and out there as John, but as demonstrated, you pay a heavy price for that when combined with business and fame.Personally, think they are stronger than ever as a band,- which is highly unusual.May all these good men find their peace, in life (or in death, Hillel)as in music.
@markferguson37455 жыл бұрын
Ale,- Think we are on the same page.Having been in several bands, I recognize it is very much about individual and group chemistry,- you've got to get that balanced, beautiful mix of personalities,- that's why also I've never heard a "supergroup" , or "star" frontman backed by semi anonymous studio musicians that I thought were any good.Every piece is equally important,- can't lose a bassist, for example, and just suppose any old prooven, skilled, bassist will work .(Could cite many examples),- and that's what I meant,- RHCP have been blessed , over and over, with outstanding and necessary talent,- no small thing.And what's ever better is that they are/ were so different.Peace, friend.

I got a silver falcon recently. Very similar to the white falcon but looks kooler in my opinion. You're right.... IT's fuckin amazing. I prefer to play a strat or a tele as it feels more comfy to me but yeah... That falcon model is GRAND

Josh was using a gretsch white penguin for a little while but he wasnt too fond of it and then he saw the white chicken and now thats his choice for Californication and Otherside. Do prefer the chicken over the falcon as it's so incredibly rare where as a Epiphone wildkat looks similar to the falcon, and half the price!
