I will answer the question, and I have mentioned this before, I tow a 2.5T caravan in the QLD summer with no problems towing in over 40 degree heat up and down hills. If you keep you boost in check 15 to 20 psi with a decent tune. They’re fine. I bought my 2006 TD42Ti brand new, it has a DC1 pump and injectors to suit the extra fuelling, 3 inch dump and exhaust, I even have the stock intercooler but have a bigger scoop. I run 15 psi. Never had a problem with temps. As I have said before, they’re a 4 WD, not a race car. Over heating is only cause by trying to turn the engine into something it was never designed to be. Pretty simple.

No it's not motors get hot from shit tunes, I run 30psi and tow anything and everything whenever and it doesn't get hot it's all in the tune, tuner and cooling system maintenance

Moved spot lights to the roof and run a milweld commercial bar. Plenty of airflow. Havent had an over heating issue since.

JPC custom billet water pump will solve TD42 kettle issues. Water pump vanes are double the size, increase flow. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
