This guy has so much talent, he doesn't need a ton of shit to get "his" sound. And NO Resuteru, I doubt he is high. He might be tired from traveling, doing numerous interviews and signings but he is highly UNlikely to be high, especially in Japan.

Always loved Kotzens playing... He kinda reminds me of Hendrix in interviews, very eccentric and flower powering if that makes any sense at all, I use a kotzen tele and RK5 as well, it rocks!

As I play more year son guitar I am actually thinning down all my equipment to just the bare basics and crucial. Quality speakers, processor, preamp, good guitar, set small group of midi proggies, clean dirty, dirty, clean, clean chorus, delay. Boom that's. The rest is up to your fingers.

The RK5 is an awesome bit of kit! Saves my life at gigs where I can’t take my amp and have to you house backline. Well thought out by a real hard touring guitarist- thanks Richie 👍🏻. Cork sniffers probably hate it but then they don’t get out of their bedrooms 🤣🤣 and 99% of the time the flyrig can do it all. Don’t need all the features of axe fx, kemper etc.

Nice to see someone showing how versatile a Tele can be with a few simple mods. My Tele has a Dimarzio hot rail in the bridge and a Fender '57 single coil in the neck. Heavy crunch to that Tele clean with the flip of a switch.
@jpcantrell110 жыл бұрын
I like how he sets his preferred overall tone in the center.....which gives him plenty of "flex" on either side of his tone. Most guitarist, by nature...tend to put their preferred tone at the high edge....with very little room for anything above. "This one goes to eleven"....Richie's goes to fifteen....man!!! Love those WDs!!!

Actually I watched the whole thing hoping to hear something like a guitar sound or two ;) like in really interesting Rig Rundowns like with Andy Timmons and Guthrie Govan. Just made an honest comment in agreement with Voxboy876 . Your useless reply about my opinion is just icing on the cake. Wanker? Sniff, sniff, I'm hurt, and glad to know you're annoyed. There's lots more Rig Talk-to-Deaths out there I'm sure you prefer,... and also some really great ones as I mentioned, check 'em out, then ask yourself who's the wanker.

nice video. What is the name of the tuner?
@MrAnders19768 жыл бұрын
when he says 30w on the cab I think he means vintage 30 that are 60w speakers... Celestion standard black 412 cab comes in three regular versions. 25w greenbacks, 60W vintage 30.s or 75W more modern sounding G12T-75 with the bigger dustcap.. the 30watt G12H is only available on the special 1960HW cabs..

Hi Ian, you could check out the Joyo pedals (Tech21 clones I believe) such as the "American Sound" (Fender Bassman inspired), "British Sound" (Marshall inspired), "California Sound" (Mesa Boogie inspired) pedals. There's the "Extreme Metal" & "AC Tone" models as well, but either the American Sound or the British Sound would serve you well. There's probably not much difference between these pedals, so it's possibly the case colour, branding & range of the gain circuit maybe. Anyway, these pedals have 4 functions; 3-band EQ, volume, distortion & gain. These cost about $40US and are great bang for buck. There's another brand called Ammoon which make a clone of the Joyo American Sound, that costs about $28US! You can plug a humbucker guitar into one of these pedals & into the PA for an amazing sound for so little cost, so in a way the pedal becomes and emergency backup amp :) More info here: www.joyoaudio.com/en/product/fl_50.html You can find these on Ebay or online gadget vendors like www.banggood.com , www.gearbest.com or www.aliexpress.com . Prices can vary, so it pays to shop around.

TruthSurge Twas my point TruthSurge, and if your comment was sarcasm, I say brilliant!
@TruthSurge9 жыл бұрын
MyworstEnemy hehe I am a firm believer that TONE is mostly the equipment. STYLE is mostly in the mind (fingers). Many people confuse these two things. If I play on George Lynch's gear, I will sound like his TONE but won't sound exactly like his STYLE (his note choices). So, what makes Ed VH Ed was not ONLY his note choices but his TONE/SOUND. If he had played his stuff on a Tele thru a Twin Reverb... he would not have been the Ed we know. Prob would never have become a guitar legend because it just wouldn't work like that. It takes both. That's why most of those guys kept using the same guitar and amp forever. or a long time. :)
@myworstenemy6809 жыл бұрын
TruthSurge Totally Agree. Excellent comment btw.
@TruthSurge9 жыл бұрын
MyworstEnemy Tone comes from the guitar and amp and effects. STYLE comes from the player's mind, not his fingers. :)
