I'm just plain envious of your external chainplates. They're so beautiful! I have really enjoyed your series on creating those. I know KZbin wasn't kind to you in the past, but I hope you're having a good time, because I find your recent content to be extremely relatable and I think your channel is reaching new heights as far as content quality goes.

Wow, back on Wisdom, the smiles on all , even the parrots & Morty. Taking Harry on his first sail is epic and now well documented. Maddie is back with the red doo! Looking absolutely marvelous, Herbee, you rocked the efforts on Wisdom, seeing her in person was like a dream! The bedding is a definite look into this product. The external chainplates, amazing, hard work paid off! Can’t wait to get ours on the bay and meet up with ya’s. Fair Winds on your travel, can’t wait till next video.

Nice to see the FAMILY! Your boy looks like his Momma without the died funky colors.....I had forgotten about that!! That bridge going down was horrible. What ever happened to the Captain of the boat that hit it? I haven't heard anything else since it happened. Oh, I like your new seats. I had 2 of the other kind with the cup holders. I gave one to a friend of mine. If your still in Annapolis, James from Zingaro has his boat there, his selling it. Check out the work he had done. Looks like a different boat. Y'all have fun!! Sorry I missed you. I got the notice to join an hour earlier than when you were going to start. I thought, ok, they decided to go an hour earlier. But then I was having problems with the App...so I gave up.❤❤❤

Well done .. i must admit the two flying can openers and a toddler all in the same space would have me on hyper watch 😂. This side of the pond Sailing Melody2 have just set sail ontheir boat with their little lad with hair like your little ones mum...meantime Mark from Wilding sailing has managed to get hos Dyneema rigged Wharram Pahis mast up and a sail.. All those bridges look pretty spindly from a distance.. put a bulker or Panama super max near one and you can see how things can go wrong pretty quickly. Check your display to motor/battery connections and use some switch cleaner and then corrosion x or similar.. small currents are easily disrupted by oxidation and tiny ammounts of corrosion. 🧙🏻♂️🇬🇧

I took a hot gun and made a template on the bottom. Then made another template above the first template at the thickness of the mattress . Then transferred both templates to the mattress. That gave me the angle to cut mimicking the hull . It didn’t take to long . I used a hot knife . That’s the issue finding something to cut with that works good . Maybe the one that uses a wire works better . Anybody
@RiggingDoctor5 ай бұрын
I was going to do the template method but didn’t have the time. The electric turkey knife worked really well! No burnt foam smell or crusty edge from the heat and clean straight cuts.
@briandale83865 ай бұрын
@@RiggingDoctor I’ll buy a cheap turkey knife and try it . I need to cut foam for my settees. The foam knife didn’t work to good . And it definitely smoked the boat up

We are from Baltimore 😂😂 In actuality, I use it to clean barnacles off the bottom. It keeps my hands away from the scraping shells and that lets me work safely without gloves or concern for my skin. It also holds the blade at a great angle to the hull to knock the stubborn ones off with ease.

03:20 The solution is to sleep in hammocks and not have berths. Hammocks as sailors used to do very successfully. 😎
@RiggingDoctor5 ай бұрын
Im not sure how they did it. I tried a hammock in the past and if there was any kind of sea state, I would swinging and flying all over the place! Tying restrictive lines to the hammock helped attenuate the swing but it was very unpleasant to reach the end of the rope and have the hammock snap to a stop while you keep on swinging. If you know how they made it work, I would love to learn.
@jonathanoasis5 ай бұрын
@@RiggingDoctor I havent tried hammock underway, just at dock, so I don't know. I just spent 8 months sleeping soundly in a hammock in my vanlife-converted minivan which worked great because parking is always at arbitrary angles of slope. Using a u-shaped pillow was critical to neck comfort, and also using an underquilt. Temperature was down to 35F in winter and I was still very cozy. Even in hot 95F California desert, in my minivan, I have found a hammock cozy, because of air flow. So the swinging problem underway, maybe bungies? I am not sure original sailor hammocks were rigged fore-and-aft. They might have been rigged arthwartships, therefore, no swinging from ship heel. I will figure this out at some point. The only usefulness of the typical v-berth platform that I can think of, is to act as a watertight bulkhead in case of hitting something and cracking the bow open leading to water ingress, yet v-berth hatches or the little forward anchor locker doors are never built to be water-tight, so v-berth platforms don't really function that way regardless
@RiggingDoctor5 ай бұрын
I will say, (this is Maddie), I tried sleeping in the hammock one time and my back was SO mad haha
@jonathanoasis5 ай бұрын
@@RiggingDoctor u-shaped pillow definitely is needed in a hammock to avoid discomfort, and hmm well, it is common to mistakenly sleep in a hammock banana-style, which is not correct, and can cause an unhappy back, as the proper hammock orientation to lay on a hammock is diagonally across it, so the body is flat, horizontal, not banana-shaped. I suppose the other purpose of a vberth is for adult activities, which in comparison, I haven't tried in a hammock, and I would be hesitant and cautious to try, even with a 'two-person weight rated' hammock, because the loads on the attachment points are tremendous, and I wouldn't want to subject a bulkhead to that amount of lateral force. But for adult activities, any flat surface will do, and is an athletic activity independent of sleeping. It seems like there are still a few things to work out. A hidden downside in a sailor's hammock, I suppose, there is always the tiny chance that another malicious crewmate will sew it closed while sleeping in it, with the last stitch made "through the nose" (Master & Commander).
