Knowledge is knitting power! I love that you always give us more than the “what”. Knowing the why is what helps me truly understand and remember. Thank you Roxanne!

Well done, very useful. I was following instructions, didn't like how the K3 together increase looked, and went searching for more info. Your video explained why, and gave me a better option. Thanks

That was really helpful. As a real beginner, I knew that different decreases had different appearances but watching how they break down with stitch order is perfect for how I learn. I can't wat to see next weel's installment so that I can better understand the alternatives and therefore be better placed when it comes to choosing the right decrease.

I just finished binding off a k2 p2 rib on a vneck vest. I bound off in pattern but when I got to the center where I had the knit stitch traveling up the center of the v, I had to do a lot of fiddling to finally get that center v to remain on top. I don't know how I did it, but if you have instructions for how to carry that off so it looks good, I would love to bookmark it.

Usually, with a V-neck, you would have 2 knit sts up the center of the V, and use a k2tog, ssk for the decreases, to maintain the 2-st column of knits. With k1p1 rib, you would have a single knit up the center of the V, and use a Central Double Decrease to maintain that knit up the center of the V. Were you doing one of those, or something different?

Oh, I didn't know that, the pattern said to do K2, P2 and had one knit stitch up the center. I had abandoned the pattern because it wanted me to sew one shoulder seam together and work back and forth. I had sewn both seams and wanted to work in the round so I followed your instructions for the double decrease in the center front and kept that single knit stitch. It worked great until I bound off. I tried all sorts of contortions and finally, I don't know what I did but, I did managed to keep that single stitch on top while binding off. I thought maybe you might know what I did.

Great video! I have a question. After finishing increases for toe up socks, it's time to knit the foot. I've noticed I get pointy "corners" on each side where I've begun the foot. Is there a technique to avoid these "corners?"
@RoxanneRichardson6 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about the transition from the toe incs to the straight part? Can you post this question in the Rox Rocks group, with a photo, and tell us what type of inc you're using, as well as where you're placing them within the round. Thanks!

Love your videos! Would love to see one on lace if you wouldn't mind :) I love doing lace but sometimes it can be a bit fiddly
@RoxanneRichardson6 жыл бұрын
What sort of lace video are you thinking of? There are lots of components to lace knitting. What do you find to be especially fiddly?
@Jess-ix8do6 жыл бұрын
I haven't done any for a while but I have trouble when you start with a very very small number of stitches and have to increase rapidly such as in doiles when you start with maybe 4 or so stitches and have to work those. Maybe I'm holding my yarn wrong (I'm a thrower) or something but I usually end up having to modify the pattern and it never looks quite right

Is it the CO itself, that is difficult? I did a series last year, starting with the pinhole CO that might be helpful. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nHPVaHSAqbGCask

Roxanne Richardson thank you I must have missed that one but yes maybe that is what is happening because after a few rows I'm ok but the first couple are almost impossible to work. Thanks again! :)
