I see now, IF, he was on private property, they have no business there. However, if he was on a public roadway, lack of registration IS probable cause for the stop. Driving without a license is an arrestable offense as the officer can be held liable for any damage or injuries he may cause if they allow him to continue. They can't just leave the vehicle on the right of way. It has to be towed or he can use them for leaving it to be burglarized. Traveling TO his private property cannot be done legally on a public roadway. There's more to consider than what he's showing us.

Dude, roll all windows up and only crack the drivers side 2 inches, just enough room for them to correspond with you and get your credentials. The reason is that, they can say that they smell weed in the vehicle because of the cross wind, and make sure that your doors are locked, that way they can't just open the door without your permission and snatch you out. Don't know if your vehicle has this feature but, if you have keyless entry, you can leave the keys in the car and roll the window up to prevent unlawful search and seizure, most Ford vehicles come standard with this, you use your fingerprints and numeric code to get into the vehicle without keys in case you lock your keys in the car.

The reason you need a license is because you are required to show understanding of the laws required to drive safely according to the infrastructure put in place by the federal government for military and logistic control of the border and territory. The reason you need registration is because owning and operating a vehicle immediately has the possibility of being a liability and causing externalities not to do intrinsically with self defense or the needs and actions of being alive. You should have insurance, as an ethical concern to take care of possible damages you can't afford done to you, or by you to others so as to affirm that your actions do not leave your life or others negatively affected due to elements beyond one's own control or because of it.

I'm still waiting on a court case that actually backs up what they say. Every court case that has been cited by sovereign citizens or people who think they don't need a license, insurance, or registration to operate a vehicle on the road has actually said the opposite of what they claim. They will cherry-pick something in it that talks about freedom of travel on public roads which is true, but ignore the other part that says that the state has policing power to regulate the use of automobiles on public roads for the sake of public safety. It being a right means that the state can't deny or revoke your license without due process.
@90sNostalgiaNerd4 ай бұрын
That's because there isn't one. Hendrick V Maryland is the SC case that ruled on motor vehicles. It was decided that operating a motor vehicle was an issue left to the individual States, not the federal government. This is granted by the general police powers granted by the 10th amendment. This can include passing a basic proficiency test, registration, and insurance.
