Aside from the perfect singing, the song itself is perfectly constructed, steady rhythm leading to an amazing crescendo. Easily the greatest love song.
@jessebynum93553 жыл бұрын
The music and lyrics were actually written separately. The music was written in 1955 as the lead in sound track for a B grade movie Unchained, about a man in prison wanting to get out to be with his wife. The songwriter later had a lyricist write lyrics to the music. A few boy beebop bands covered the song in the late 50s/early 60s, but it was the Righteous Brothers who created the iconic cover that Bobby covered. Both he and Bill wanted to sing it, but Bobby won the coin toss. Bill later said Bobby nailed it.

Rumor has it that his parents, who had never seen him live, were in the audience. Can you imagine how proud they must have been? Good God. That performance is legendary. Apparently Bobby suffered immensely from stage fright. But good Lord, those piercing blue eyes and the voice of an angel. It is no wonder that panties rained on their stage. You'll note how subdued the audience was. That is because this was part of "The Andy Williams Show",

The Righteous Brothers were two guys, Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield, this was Bobby Hatfield solo on this song. Sometimes they would sing together and sometimes they would each sing solo but even performing solo they were credited as Righteous Brothers. Apparently they both loved this song and both wanted to perform it, so they flipped a coin and Bobby won. Both have incredible voices, but this song was better suited to Bobby's range I feel, Bill has a much deeper voice. You may know recognise Bill's voice from the Song "(Ive had) the time of my life" from the movie Dirty Dancing.

The most played song in the 20th Century. This song was written for a movie titled "Unchained", 10 years before this performance, though I know of no one who ever saw the movie. From the movie, the song is about a prisoner hoping his love is waiting for him when he gets out. When the Righteous Brothers recorded it, the Vietnam War was heating up badly and many soldiers said this song was important to them over there.

I think I know what they're doing. They put every woman under a spell....Those guys, besides being incredible singers, sung the words every little girl growing up, wants to hear. The words that say they are loved by someone so deeply, so passionately, so true, so pure. Someone that can not live without them and their love.When it actually happens, and the words are spoken, it will blow your girls mind. She never thought it would actually come true. It says that they would do anything to make them happy, for the rest of their life. Someone that is willing to go to the ends of the earth for their love. It says I will never hurt you and risk losing your love. Bottom line, I will love and cherish you until my last breath. And if you can make a woman feel that way, she will see you in such a way that she will never want to let you go. Funny thing is that a lot of men do feel this way about their significant other, but can't make the words come out. It's not macho. It's gay to say something like that. Men do have to get rid of that attitude and make your woman swoon. You get what you give. Growing up, I was raised by my mother and 4 sisters. Talk about emotions spinning like a tornado constantly. It taught me one thing, women are on a different emotional level and if you don't discuss your emotions, they will either drag it out of you or walk. So guys, take a testosterone break and dig deep and tell them as often as you can, how much they mean to you and how far you will go to keep her love.
