“The Righteous Brothers” are considered by most to be the Greatest Male Vocal Duet Of All Time. I agree. Between Bill Medley’s Lows and Bobby Hatfield’s Highs they can hit every note on an 88 key piano. No other male singers can do that. Legendary. “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin” was the most played song on radio in the 20th Century. "Unchained Melody" - Bobby Hatfield Live 1965. Considered by most as The Greatest Live Male Vocal Performance In History... I agree. Bobby's use of "Runs" is brilliant. He is the master of the technique and started the trend. 7 notes just to say the word "I".... Their name came when they did a show in a smaller venue and a black man told them…. You two Brothers are Righteous. They created the sound and set the table that all Soul Music fed from for decades to come. In 1983, in Newport Beach O.C. Calif. Bill and Bobby at the Jolly Roger Restaurant . I was 13 feet away for... "Unchained Melody"- "You've Lost That Lovin’ Feelin‘" - "Soul And Inspiration".... They were perfect, awesome, amazing, incredible......

We used to try to sing this when I was a kid back at my old summer camp when we would sneak up to the girls cabins to serenade them after the bell. I don't think we ever did it close to justice, but at least it gives some sentimental memories every time I hear it xD

I remember running from school (I was in sixth grade) and my teacher, whom I had a crush on, asked me why I was in such a hurry. I told her that I have to go buy a new 45 record. She asked me: which one? I said: "you've lost that lovin' feeling." She just looked at me and smiled. What a song that was and is...

Barry Rillera, a member of Medley's band who was also in Hatfield's group, suggested that they go see each other's show and perform together. ... According to Medley, they then adopted the name "The Righteous Brothers" for the duo because black Marines from the El Toro Marine base started calling them "righteous brothers".

Welcome to blue eyed soul. The story goes that someone once said "Those brother have a righteous sound" and recommended for them to fill in at the Apollo, then he found out they were white, but that day they became the "Righteous Brothers" were named. I feel sorry for y'all who are too young not to grow up with this kind of music. I bet you would like Dusty Springfield's "Son of a Preacher Man" also. She was greatly influenced by black female singers of the 60s as well. She doesn't sound British at all. Her song "You don't have to say you love me" is one of my favorites as well.

They helped epitomize the Term Blue Eyed Soul. When Elvis first heard them, he thought they were Black and he thought Tom Jones who was a close Friend was Black as Well. This was The First Song that they did working with Superstar Record Producer Phil Spector. It was written by Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil who are a successful Songwriting Team and the longest running Married Songwriting Team of all time. This Song is next to Stairway To Heaven holds the distinction of being the Most Frequently played Song in the History of Radio. If you were a recording artist especially in the 1960's you did one of the Many Rock & Roll Shows out there. This was from Shindig. They got their first big break when they were performing at Navy Bases in San Francisco, CA., and The Sailors most of which were Black said "That's Righteous Brothers" and the name stuck. Unfortunately Bobby Hatfield fell on hard times (The Blond Fellow). He gave up his Rights to "Unchained Melody" when he needed financial help. When it was a Hit with Ghost & The Wonder Years he didn't get paid. Sadly he died of a Heart Attack who was secretly addicted to Cocaine.
