Good review, I've got an SR5 myself and this is a good option for staying off the ground, staying dry and comfortable. Biggest downside is obviously daily tear down and set up but can't beat the price.

The tent is sealed pretty well. There are a couple of small gaps right where the tailgate meets the bed, but i usually just put my gear there and haven’t had an issue. As for insects i havent noticed any.

200 bux bought me the tent that fits my frontier short bed along with the correct air mattress and a goofy little hanging light that is also a fan. Fits pretty snug. And yeah there's a large gap on either side of the tailgate that could be plugged with stuff so the bugs don't get in.

I have a soft, roll up cover on back of truck. Do you think, or have you seen anyone try to use over one of those when rolled up? Looks like it might have a tough time fitting over the hump.

It should fit. I cant think of a reason it wouldnt. I would suggest purchasing from Amazon. Then you have time to return.

I have a hard Retrax cover with a big case at the back of the bed on my Silverado and this tent works with it. Since there’s no floor, it works. You just have to get it adjusted so it’s on perfectly square because it’s a slightly tighter fit than if there was no tonneau

Do you think this would work with a tri fold cover? I have one that in the “operating position” the last portion of the cover folds directly upwards and stays in an upright position.

Hey! Thanks for watching. This question has been asked a few times and the general consensus is that it *should, however i have not personally experienced it, nor have i heard feedback for it. My suggestion is grab one off Amazon, check fit/function in your driveway and if it doesnt work you can easily return it. But please let me know! I have not seen the Honda designed tent personally. There is no water that comes in on this one as it has double flaps that overlap the sides.

I love mine. Only complaint I have are the gaps where the tailgate is on the bottom and sides. Some bugs fly in. Anyone else have this issue? What do you do to fix it? Great video!

Thanks! I usually take my sleeping bag stuff sack and put it down there on one side and my clothes bag on the other. Doesnt seal it, but for sure makes it better!

Just search for a “twin size -memory foam topper” on amazon. I went with a 4” thick one but depending on space needed you can go thinner for easier storage. I then went to Home Depot and bought a large HDX (basically Rubbermaid) storage bin.

I can’t say 100% for sure that it would as you would need at least the panel closest to the tailgate to be folded and that might interfere with the sides where it comes down to meet the bed. Then again it may… my suggestion would be to order the one from Amazon so you can test it out and if it does not fit at least it is free returns!

They make them in many sizes. Just need to verify if there is one that fits your vehicle!

I have only had it in light rain. Nothing too crazy as of yet. As for condensation/ventilation it does great. No issues at all. Stays pretty insulated without condensation. So far i have only been down into the mid 20’s (F) with it.

I have a few concerns. So if it rains prior to set up your sleeping area will be wet? Would you be able to install it with a tri fold tonneau cover flipped back? And this would have to be completely removed to drive correct? Thanks for the video

Hey! Thank you for watching. Yes, if it rains prior to setup it would be wet. I used a tarp to line the bottom of the bed prior to putting down my sleeping system. For the Tonneau i am not sure. I know someone else asked the same comment a while back, you could possibly ask them how it worked out. It is recommended to remove before driving.

I think if it was something i was going to do every day i would invest in a RTT. But for a night or two on the weekends it is perfect. Eventually i do want to get a RTT, but am still deciding what setup is right for me and my budget.

I had the opportunity to set it up in the dark last weekend next to someone with a RTT and they were done about 5 minutes before me. The part i was impressed with was tear down the next morning. It took me about 30 minutes to be ready to go where the other person with the RTT was ready to go in about 15 total. Still not bad for the price difference.

Have you set it up in bad weather amd when it's pouring rain. Plus with your hear and wife or gf. . We tried one of these one time first rain and we where like nope. We purchased a rtt. BEst decision

Nothing in pouring rain. Just light rain. But i’m always by myself so the other part is no biggie. I knew i wanted a RTT but wasnt sure which one/ what rack so this was just to get me out there and enjoy the trails. Served its purpose perfectly until i was ready for the RTT.

The issue I have with these is that if you have anything in your bed, you have empty your whole teuck, especially of you have a wife next to you. Then you have your gear exposed and you have to load it back. Rtt if any good is about fast set up and takedown . This is important during rain and when your in a group

I have not tested with a tonneau cover. But with only one contact point on each side inside of the bed i would assume that you could fold it back and use it. But unsure to be honest.

And if I don't have to remove my cover, that would be awesome vs the others that have a floor liner attached to it. Could even use my cover as a table for certain things like a tablet holder or dinner.

@@azbackroadadventures assuming the straps are not around moving structure, I have driven mine with the tent installed on the truck with the 3 poles removed and the tent collapsed within the truck bed and couple camp chairs on top to keep it from flopping around. Of course not at hi-speeds, but around the CG to town and fishing streams etc. with no problem. Only takes a few min to reassemble and install the 3 tent poles.

Durability has been good! It is made from standard tent material, so general maintenance, and dont over-stretch the seams it will last. You dont need to factor the tailgate when ordering. Just the standard bed length. If you order from Amazon it should show the options for the tundra.

It’s in there. But the inside straps attach to the tie-down points at the back near the tailgate.

Not using it anymore. Upgraded to a rooftop tent, but i still have it, loan it to friends no and then, still works great.
