Nice power supply but user interface including front panel is like a dog's breakfast again. Rigol should really finally hire a decent product designer.

Not a fan of 'dark' instruments either. It makes for a very dark working environment and some of the panel legends are really hard to read.

I thought the same thing about the previous generation, but having used the DP832 for a number of years now, I've got used to it. The only thing that's bugging me from the look of this quick demo is the ridiculous placement of the Rigol logo on the bottom left of screen. Really stupid waste of real estate. I'm not a fan of this latest trend for black kit either, I have to say, but that's no great deal for me. Having sense capabilities is something I really miss on my DP832, so that's definately a feature worth having, though not worth the massive additional cost. I could buy two DP832's and still have money left over compared with the cost of an DP2031 unit. Nice psu, no doubt, but way too expensive for the nominal gains over its predecessor, I think.

Not a fan of the black. Makes for dark workspace and poor contrast of controls. The best i can say about the Rigol look is they are unique. I purchaed a GW Instek power supply a few months back with all these features and more. Love it and as a bonus not black, but with a black outter rim tastefully done surrounding just the display.

@@simonbaxter8001 It's an eye strain for sure not to mention looks like an old 80's stereo receiver. Especially when all the other equipment has a light facade. I almost got their MSO scope but black? Ugh, I'll drop another 1k on another brand and get a little more features too. I do like Rigol's power supplies. They have a better selection than most. If it comes in white I might bite, but in black I won't be back.
