You missed that you can press the Red scroll button down for select when the curser is over what you would like to select.

I think the upgraded model of the x8 has the USB-C charging port. On Amazon they are selling both, the slight more expensive one has the USB-C port. I have the upgraded i4 and it has the USB-C port. Very happy with the i4, but ordered the x8 (upgraded) as well because I'm not fond of the shoulder buttons which are used for left and right mouse buttons, certainly not a deal breaker though. BTW, the clicking on the excellent scroll wheel open web browser links in a new tab... so good to have this feature. Works perfectly with Ubuntu (linux).

Thanks for your question! The Rii X8 Mini Keyboard doesn’t have dedicated keys for adjusting screen brightness on macOS. It mainly handles basic typing and navigation. You might need to use macOS keyboard shortcuts or a dedicated mac-compatible keyboard for brightness control. Let me know if you need more info!

@TossSong Thank you for the detailed response. I can't decide between this keyboard and an inexpensive keyboard for tablet (I plan to use it on the couch with mac mini), can you suggest which option will be more convenient or do you know a good keyboard model?

Rii i4, X8, and K06 are good for searching keywords on the couch. If you’re planning to comfortably type on the couch, then the most popular one would be Logitech K400 Plus.

Hi, thank you for your comment. The one that I have (used in the video) is no longer available. You could search “Magnetic Phone Charger” on Amazon. If you decide to get another mini keyboard that solely uses USB-C port, I recommend getting another magnetic system that uses 24-pin. On AliExpress or on Amazon, search “usb-c magnetic adapter” (they don’t come with wires). Amazon one costs 3x or 4x more.

Hi, you could search for “magnetic charging cable” for micro-USB, lightning and USB-C heads. But with a USB-C port, search “USB-C magnetic adapter”. Hope this helps.

Hi, thanks for reaching out. Unplug the receiver and plug it back in. And double check that the keyboard has enough battery (charged). Windows should recognize it. Don’t forget it has no Bluetooth connection. Let me know how it goes.

The X8+ features a microphone, but I am unsure if it has voice typing built-in (unlikely, I've disassembled many Rii boards and they're simple on purpose) or simply presents as a microphone to the device. I don't own one myself.

How is the overall texture of the body? Is it like rubberized plastic? My old RII mini from like 2017 become all sticky (degenerated rubberized plastic material).

Hi, thanks for your comment. It’s plastic all around. It’s a little slippery but doesn’t feel cheap. I’ve had another that is really cheaply made, this one isn’t. The keyboard feels nice too. For me overall is a better made than most and looks good too.

What is the best keyboard in terms of ease of pressing the keyboard buttons? Ri i4.Ri x8..k06..or What

Hi, thank you for commenting. It’s difficult to say. The K06 clickiness is best (when not typing for long), But then the keys are cramped together, and typing for Long periods could be tiring. Both the i4 and X8 keys are the same (not clicky) and are spread out more, but typing on them could be tiring no matter because they require more pressure (because of the membrane design) especially for long periods. But typing on the X8 or i4 like for log-in and google searching would just fine. They all have their negatives and positives. If I had to choose, because I don’t type long strings of words anyway when using these small keyboards-I would choose either the X8 or the i4. Note though, some i4 units have been reported that it could auto scroll sometimes without touching it.

I have i4 and x8.Typing is good and similar,but i4 is way better for use.I4 have red buttons up,mouse buttons.also have back button...Is more easy to use.X8 have only rgb lights.

@@daduvsmcmiodaduvsmcmio9044 I have the i4, yes the back button is very handy as the dedicated delete key. The only thing I dislike is the red shoulder mouse buttons as they are too easy press. I ordered the x8 as well to compare. I might open it up and see if I can make it harder to press.

P.S.: now that we are in 2024, is there a bluetooth version? I've seen the rii i4 has it, along with a scroll, but it doesn't seem as ergonomic as the x8. Ugh, what a dilemma!

@@TossSong Thank you for replying!! I have an adapter, luckily, it's just the dilemma of choosing between rii i4 for its bluetooth and trigger buttons vs rii x8 with its ergonomic design. Between the 2, which one would you prefer and why? I mainly will use it for typing notes when in bed, revising slides and do practice questions (multiple choice format). Which one fits better with this criteria?

I see for me, the i4 has a bug, it auto scrolls on its own, and there are similar reports online and KZbin. However, there are more reviews that people have no problems with it on Amazon. So, if there’s no problem with it, the i4 would be a better option in my opinion.
