Rikon 17" Drill Press: A Drill Press I Don't Regret

I have had the Rikon 17" 30-217 for six months now. It's hard to find something bad to say about it. It's been a workhorse in my little shop and a machine I enjoy using. This was not a comprehensive review or how to use the machine. Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Haha yeah it's pretty weak. It served me well but I had to get bigger one. If I tried to do that with my Rikon it would probably break my arm.

Looks nice. The CVT (to me) is a bit worrisome, but I suppose it wouldn't subjected to the same stresses as a car CVT. Cheers!

Does the depth stop ever readjust itself? I have a Wen 12" press currently, and the depth stop is the least reliable thing ever, it comes undone all the time due to vibration. Menards has the Rikon on sale currently, so Im about to grab one.

I had a small WEN prior to this and had the same problem with it. I have no complaints yet about the Rikon. Mine gets pretty heavy use and I do rely on the depth stop regularly. I have not experienced any issues with the depth stop. It's been a fantastic drill press.
