@LakesideAutobody Mary Christmas to you too Jerry and the family may God bless you all...... as for the welder the gas is getting very expensive I'm sticking to flux core I feel very comfortable with it and I save $$$$$

You're right about the gas - along with a lot of other materials - gotta keep finding alternatives - I'm even trying some TEMU sand paper 👍🥴@@firstgenerationgarage2803

That's a steal of a deal if it lasts. I've been wanting to get rid of some of my welders at home for the sake of saving space. I've got a Lincoln MIG, a 1940's Forney AC buzzbox with a Century AC to DC converter with a water cooled TIG set up. It's my frankenwelder. I also have a small 90 amp inverter stick welder that i mainly keep to run off a generator if need be. A Miller wire feed welder that i keep loaded with flux core and a 55 amp plasma cutter. I'd love to get an all in one machine that does the MIG, TIG, Stick and a plasma cutter. But I don't think the tech is there yet. It's a reliability issue for me. They've made massive improvements now that some better companies are getting involved in the multiprocess market. I'm holding for one who will pass a short test of time and get some of the bugs worked out. Also parts availability is a big thing too. Most importantly I want a company that will make a commitment to stand behind their products. I'm not looking for the least expensive on the market and I can't afford to spend that kind of money on the most expensive multipurpose welding cutting unit for my home shop/garage when I already have the machines to do that. They're just taking up too much space. But they're rapidly catching up to the point where I'm ready to pull the trigger

You know..... I know it takes up room but I'm keeping these random welders set up for one certain task - it's faster than changing them over to the other process. I absolutely have to have a gas MIG set up, one stick welder for random stuff, a flux core for windy days, plasma cutter, etc. I'm actually not a big fan of multi process welders - too much effort and hassle to change over. Just a thought before you pull the trigger. 🎄🎅🎉

So many new welders! This looks like a nice one. I'm still running my Miller Vintage 200 - big old transformer machine lol. It gets the job done but I do get curious about these digital ones. .030 wire? Notice much of a change from .023? Mine is loaded with .030 now because I'm building myself a new sheet metal brake. Maybe I will leave the .030 in and give it a go - I have some rocker replacements coming up.
@LakesideAutobody Жыл бұрын
The only thing I notice between using .030" and .023 is that I can sort of feel the wire hit the metal harder with the .030". Not sure if I'm imagining that though. Welds are the same however :)

I love it. I saved the soles of an old pair of sandals - needed some real quick so I threw on a pair of socks and duck taped them to my feet. After wearing them for some time they could be easily put on or off. Wife was not thrilled at all 🥴@@Joe-pb3lx

thata so kewl.....yeah, wife doesnt like the stuff i do when it comes to clothes.....i have a xxxl t-shirt that she accidently ordered for me and i use it to go out in the garage so i dont wreck my good shirts and she still yells at me for wearing it because it looks ridiculous, but yells at me if i forget to change my shirt and walk in with grease stains, i tell her its not grease just dirt from the yard and it deescalates the situation@@LakesideAutobody

So if you use .030 or .035 solid wire how does the syn system know what wire you using? Is there a chart for the machine?
@LakesideAutobody Жыл бұрын
There is a user manual with a chart but I didn't really look at the chart too close. I think the computer inside the welder can tell how fast the wire is melting or something - then adjusts accordingly. My goal with these welder reviews is to end up finding a welder that's super cheap and super easy to use. I want to turn it on and weld - maybe adjust the heat. Big easy to read screen too :)
@lewismartin9980 Жыл бұрын
Can you adjust Post flow ?
@LakesideAutobody Жыл бұрын
No - that's one thing I wish you could do. The Miller I use doesn't have any pre or post which is sort of nice - no wasted gas. For those that like it though this is very simple - no worries about adjustment - very easy.
@Joe-pb3lx Жыл бұрын
i think being that the post flow is activated when you let off the trigger you shouldnt be pulling away like you do with every tack?
@LakesideAutobody Жыл бұрын
You're right. You're not really supposed to pull away but I do for the video. Post flow is not adjustable or else I wouldn't even have it flowing. Pre and Post flow adjustment are nice but it makes the welder a little more difficult to understand. This is just plug it in and weld which is really nice for some folks.
@jeffkohler2111 ай бұрын
Was the gas constantly flowing even after welding? And is this a real Riland welder? I dont see it on their site only on amazon and ebay.
@LakesideAutobody11 ай бұрын
It is a real RILAND and yes it has pre flow and post flow gas which some welders like to keep the weld area clean before and after the weld. I'm not to big on it because I spot mostly. Great little welder though - the pre and post gas flow cannot be changed either :)

@@LakesideAutobody I spent some time working different places in Maine. The seacoast is beautiful. It was a long, meandering ride down Route 1 from places like Winterport, Searsport. So much to see. Hungry? Turn west, away from the touristy coast and find a place the locals go for some fine fish dinners. I did this many times. In western Maine, the Rangeley area is also very nice. We hope to get back there this year.
