That's not true. Eating grapes won't cause a dog to drop immediately from eating them. If they digest them, symptoms begin 24 - 48 hours later and those symptoms include kidney failure. Not sure if this is obvious to you or not but you can't just go down to PetSmart and buy some new kidneys for an organ transplant on your dog.

Please don’t keep testing your luck. It’s not a sensitivity. Grapes are *poisonous* to some non-human animals when ingested. I don’t know how big your dog is, or what sort of grapes you give, cause dosage could be a huge part of it. But please, there are many other kinds of treats you could be giving your dog that are not known toxins to them, like green beans, seedless watermelon, broccoli, boiled carrots, unseasoned meats, ect. Just because a kid may be able to eat a small amount of rat poison or arsenic and be okay doesn’t mean it would be reasonable to offer rat poison/arsenic to them as an occasional treat. Even if you are not giving him enough to see immediate symptoms, they could be doing a number on his kidneys.

Yeah, but how do you know they love them? They can get kidney failure. And is, in general, toxic for them, making them weaker. I've read a bunch of studies about this. I found that this is also harmful to cats as well. Even if your dog doesn't show immediate symptoms, it's still toxic and can have delayed effects. It's a huge risk. Dogs have their own food for a reason. It's like feeding a child too much fast food just because they love it. This can lead to serious consequences, and I recommend you get with your local veterinarian for guidance.

I was feeding grapes to both of my last two remaining dogs until July 2023. At that time my 10 year old dog was bitten by a snake and died. My last dog, 11yrs old, now has Irritable Bowel Disease. That means she is illergic to a protein. My vet prescribed a special dog food in which the protein is ground up so fine that the body doesn't recognize it as protein and thus doesn't try to reject the protein. I don't give her anything else except a little pureed sweet potato and pizza crust. Thank goodness she loves the food. It costs over $100 for 18 pounds.

Before you give your dog any new food, I recommend to look up if they are safe for your dog or not. If you’ve given something toxic to your dog, go to the vet to check your dog out even if there’s no side effects. I see many people fighting and arguing about whether dogs can eat grapes or not, well I think you should really just go to the vet and see if they are okay. This just happened, my dog accidentally got ahold of two grapes and I panicked because I saw they couldn’t , so I called my vet and thankfully they called me back and told me to give her a bit of hydrogen peroxide and it helped , i’m so thankful right now.

Also I know this doesn’t effect “every dog” but I didn’t want to chance it, it’s better safe than sorry, and I just didn’t want to risk anything happening to her

Yes they are gonna die a very horrible and painful death they will die in a week or two without symptoms there is no known cure and guaranteed to die.
