I’m full on sobbing so hard I can’t even see the screen clearly. I’m chronically ill, single, and it feels like all my friends have either deserted me or don’t truly care about me. I’ve been so sick and depressed and feeling like I don’t have anybody who truly knows who I am and truly loves me and stands by me, not just tolerates me. I was just about to go to bed when I got the notification you posted this and the title pulled me closer and not 15 seconds in I just collapsed in tears. My service dog ran to me, laid in my lap and kissed my tears away and I realized that even when I have nobody else around, I always have my heaven sent angel on earth to be with me as a visual reminder that God is always with me. I always say that the only time I truly feel Gods presence is in music and that is why he led me to music city. @@sherricooper6665 yes, I think it’s because you can apply those ways of living to life itself, for me personally they don’t need to be related to God, these songs make me feel like I can have faith in people, in myself or in life as a whole, people should live peacefully wether or not they believe in God. Also these songs make me comfortable because they make me feel loved and supported even if I’m not part of the community they are aimed to, they can be interpreted as songs that talk about love for yourself and other people (again, regardless of wether or not you believe in God) I hope I didn’t say anything weird, English is not my first language

In all honesty, this is one of my favorite songs to come out in the last five years. I feel so alone very often. I grew up with a very abusive mother who really emotionally tormented me for many years and also abandoned me so much by putting me in scary places. I now live on my own, alone and while it has been amazing and I am so grateful to be in my own apartment, it has been very isolating and confusing at times because my mother was never there for me growing up and I didn’t have good parents who guided me through life. I also suffer from complex PTSD so I really do feel unlovable sometimes and that first lyric feels like it’s coming right from my heart. I truly needed this reminder and for the first week after this song came out when I listen to it I couldn’t stop crying. Thank you so much Riley for being brave in that writing session and pouring your heart out because I can tell you it is helping me and a lot of other people more than you’ll ever know. ❤️💕

I tell you this, because, although I think this is a privilege, over the last few months I've been feeling very alone, like no one else in the world! believe me...Crying out in my room, asking God fills me with his love; because it seems to be that everything is on its place, but your heart is broken, empty....without any reason...It's weird, but happens a lot. Usually when people say they are not alone, is when they are most alone. I have been alone most of my life even though there were people around me because none of them knew me or cared about me. But that is ok, we are not born to attract other people, just to find our way through life. I am afraid I made a wrong turn into an impossible abyss of misery and cannot get out.
