Ngl, Riley’s mental shenanigans has really put her through very precarious situations. First, there was her depression after moving to SF and almost running away. Then, there’s her sleepwalking which could have killed her. Then there’s her anxiety attack in IO2. All of that happening within less than 2 years. She can’t catch a break!

ppl don’t know how sleepwalking works. for one, the eyes are usually open, staring into nothing. secondly, the body goes subconsciously through a routine, walking down the stairs would’ve been no problem for riley. i did it myself when i was little and just laid down on the couch downstairs. my father just watched me doing all that on my own lol. how he did, however, is actually how you’re supposed to behave when encountering a sleepwalker. if you touch or yell at them to wake them up they can fly into a panic/get startled very easily. the body knows how to walk so they won’t just fall or tumble down the stairs. you just watch them closely in the low chance they do misstep or there’s something in the way that’s not usually there or they start doing a task that could be dangerous. then you just let them go back to bed on their own. they usually do it very quickly, albeit not always to the same bed they left when they started 😄 there’s tons of stories of kids going to sleep in bathtubs or couches or even the floor. they will lie down all on their own.

Nemu Nemui (100 Kanojo) always sleepwalks when she goes to sleep, but it's more awesome and less troublesome because she actually becomes more alert when she's asleep, as she can easily navigate her environment and handle tasks without injuring herself. God riley really can't catch a mental break with all that's happened, first of all depression from moving, sleepwalking, lucid dreaming, and then a full-blown panic/anxiety attack like what's next? Her parents die in a car crash and someone from the extended family tries (and most likely fails) to confort her contemplating everything to be her fault (she could have asked for something from the store), leading her to contemplate suidide from a tall building with it all ending in her getting therapy
