Hey!! I would love it if y'all could give me some more thriller recommendations based on the things I said I like vs. don't like! ♥

In the POV of the killer, I highly recommend The Nothing Man by Catherine Ryan Howard and In the Garden of Spite by Camilla Bruce

I didn’t love the Passengers but LOVED the One by John Marrs!! Sci-go thriller with a romance element and one POV is a serial killer!! It’s one of my favourites
@whitneywest35383 жыл бұрын
The obvious one is In My Dreams I Hold A Knife. Based on what your likes/dislikes I think you’ll enjoy it. I also suggest Don’t Believe It by Charlie Donlea. It’s been a couple of years since I read it but I think you’ll either really hate it or maybe you’ll enjoy it. I also loved Nightfilm (mixed media.) The Sun Down Motel had a great spooky atmosphere and it takes places largely in the same area. I wasn’t sold on the ending but I’m the minority based on other reviews I’ve read. I also loved loved loved The Mary Shelley Club, it is very much YA but it’s all the things I love about books with spook or scare. I’m not sure what it falls under, thriller I guess. It’s a very easy read too. You would fly through it, if it grabbed your interest.

okay but you like thrillers about the killer and married couples (not about cheating tho) makes me think of "My lovely wife" by samantha downing! I havnt read it-but will soon hopefully! We seem to have similar taste haha

I LOVED Rock Paper Scissors, a really great option for a thriller about a married couple in a cold/eerie/isolated setting (though there is cheating involved). I also enjoyed For Your Own Good. For YA, the Good Girls Guide to Murder series is really great and includes mixed media, plus the audiobooks have a full cast of narrators. I'm planning on reading The Passengers soon!

I just read the good girls guide to murder last month!!! Super fun!

I love this idea. Planning on doing something like it soon. About to pick up For Your Own Good. Would highly suggest the audio for the Passengers over the physical book

As a romance reader you should deffo read The One by John Marrs (esp if you like The Passengers) which is a thriller about a DNA matchmaking app. It follows I think 6 pairings from the app and the development (and fallout in some cases) of their relationships. There's some real romance in there, plus one (or more? 😱) perspective could definitely be described as the bad guy!

Have yet to read 56 Days but Catherine Ryan Howard had another book called “The Nothing Man” which I loved! Would highly recommend 😊

what a fun idea for a video! i also loved your detailed descriptions of what you liked. based on that i think you'd love the truly devious series by maureen johnson! isolated, academic, multiple people who dont know whats going on, etc!

I'm currently reading For your own good and I'm enjoying the book 😊 I'm intrigued to read Not a happy family because Not a happy family sounds similar to Crooked house by Agatha Christie and Knives out movie which I love both and I want to find more movies and books like them. I'm also interested in reading Rock paper scissors because I had seen couple booktubers loving this book. I love The Passengers by John Marrs and I really hope you love the book too 😊

I liked 56 Days. I felt that Covid was handled well and it made it feel like an isolated mystery. I didn’t feel Covid anxiety like I thought I would reading that book.

You might enjoy The Talented Mr. Ripley, it's a very "light" thriller with a killer pov uwu It also feels kinda historical because it was written in 1955 (still super readable though)

OoooOOOOOOH! The Passengers! One of my favorite books I read this year and my favorite thriller of all time. I can’t wait for you to read it, you’re in for a WILD ride! I don’t remember if you’ve read The One, but if not, be warned that there are spoilers for how it ends in The Passengers… so you might want to read that first (totally worth it).

I LOVE your shirt! 😍 and I agree with you about mental health and substance abuse in thrillers- it just doesn’t seem to be done well by the authors. I would recommend The Broken Girls by Simone St. James (school setting and historical aspects) and In My Dreams I Hold a Knife by Ashley Winstead (school setting)

I finished "Rock, paper, scissors" literally yesterday (narrated by Stephanie Racine AND Richard Armitage!) and LOVED it so much. It kept me on edge all the time and loved all the twists and turns of the story. Also, I heard there's an adaptation coming soon!!! I'd say you should try other books by Alice Feeney. This one is now my favourite but I really liked "Sometimes I lie".

The Escape Room! I’m terrified of elevators TERRIFIED so I think that will be a good one for me 😱😱😱 Oh and I don’t think you’ll find a fish bowl setting for 56 Days, they are trapped in an apartment but you also get the cops POV from outside, and flashbacks to the couple meeting
@toninumber43 жыл бұрын
I love thrillers. I haven’t read the passengers, the escape room, of the maidens (I have this one to read) but I read for your own good, Rock Paper Scissors, 56 days, and not a happy family and loved all of them.

Haha I love cheating plotlines and idk why. I think it's cuz it's one of those really uncomfortable things and no one wants to get cheated on, and affairs are pretty terrible...but love reading about them or watching them in shows and movies. But I prefer if it's a woman cheating on a man OR if it's the man, then the other woman is a main character and we get her pov. However, I agree with you, I don't like mental health being used as a motive. My favorite thriller probably ever is still Behind her eyes and the netflix adaption was so well done! I can't wait to get to rock paper scissors. And unrealated, I have that same shirt, love schitt's creek!

I highly recommend Invisible by James Patterson. His books are usually a hit or miss for me but this one was fantastic! It’s in the POV of the killer and the audiobook is amazing because it has sound effects and music and you can hear victims being murdered in the background 👀

i read this book years ago so it might not hold up but, They Never Learn’s premise reminded me of Killer Instinct by S.E. Green. it’s a YA book about a girl who takes revenge on shitty men and studies serial killers bc she thinks she might be one, iirc. it might not hit the way adult thrillers do, since they can /go there/, but at least it’s out there 😅

The Passengers had a great premise but the writing was not done well. It's just so uninteresting which is a shame because the core idea is so unique. Rock Paper Scissors got 5 stars from me and I'm really, really, really picky. It's fast paced and all chapters ended with a cliffhanger and kept me interested throughout it all
