@@paulcornock8287 I don't believe you do - but you're best to do a dpf clean & then tell the 'confuser you fitted a new dpf ( I.E fib) at the same time, to start with a "clean slate". Otherwise it will probably continue to sulk.

Great job Jimmy. True helping hand. Just what to spread the news based on things I learned working on similar problem on my car. B28/8 (DPF differential pressure sensor) is part of DPF subsystem and will not "limp the car". At 4:18 we can see sensor called B60 (Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor) - it is part of the turbocharger subsystem and it shuts down the turbocharger - max allowed value is 1500hPa, and in idle revs should not go over 1100hPa - this sensor was defective for me and after replacement it solved the problem - it is easily accessible anybody can replace it bw. Back on the actual video the root cause might be due to whole Add Blue system looking strange ( 3:25 in video). Even it looks switched off it might have clogged, nitrate crystals can form if urea leaks.

Have this problem on vw tdi engines. Low pressure egr blocks up with adblue causing back pressure and setting p2002. I reckon the low pressure egr is the cause. Great detective work. Think you're on point with that. Excellent video

I have seen the same high presure after dpf on Rav 4 euro5 engine. Back box was causing 44 mbar presure after second cat, 90 mbar presure in front of dpf. I think back box was block some way. After hard drive by owner on motorway dpf light go away so didn't got a chance to remove back box an see way it's causing mbar presuure. Thanks for video.

Hi jimmy I think the exhaust flap works with the back pressure between the dpf and catalyst so if there's a problem with the exhaust flap it could be stuck closed causing back pressure in the dpf and giving high readings ..just a thought 😊

My car has a similar issue , and also has an exhaust flap middle of the exhaust pipe , i also got a bit of soot on tailpipe and soot G going up very quickly

As far as I'm aware these are fitted with a back pressure flap that does keep some pressure in the exhaust system however the soot does indicate the DPF is damaged

Interesting video this jimmy and please let us know outcome. What was the age and milage on this BMW. Is it possible these DPFs are getting more restrictive in their designs to catch more pollution (therefore having higher values (and does Manufacturer data not give normal operating values!!! )These DPF issues are just putting people off buying diesel cars.. Maybe thats the idea

Glad I was sensible 8 yrs ago & bought a E-Class 350 v6 convertible with one of the best engines Merc built, cooler Gaskets that’s all it’s needed and oils changed every 3k will sell it in the new year though 😢

Most newer mercedes have a exhaust damper shutoff flap near backbox so pressure is probably normal.

Hi, I have a same problem too. Basically I upload one video months ago. Someone drilled couple of drill hole in a DPF because of the high Dpf Fisher but Dpf not blocked what I found there is a faulty mass airflow sensor because of that they change EGR maker two holes in Dpf and came to me I couldn’t find any problem with Dpf or other related. I’ll check any boost leaking even I can’t find any boost leaking. Finally I found faulty mass airflow sensor basically you someone remove that horse and leave it as it is, could be the problem, other thing we can’t find any faulty code for airflow sensor. And also, if sensor problem is effected to the gear shifting Good luck mate

I have the same car, I rebuilt the engine and had the DPF cleaned before assembling it, now I do about 200 or 300 kilometers and the error p2002 (fb) appears, I've already checked the pipes and nothing is blocked, I have adblue canceled and I already checked the ECU data and everything is fine, I also have the black dirty exhaust.

Did you ever find the source of the problem with the back pressure? I suspect it had a dpf and AdBlue delete, and the soot then decided to all accumulate in the scr

Hi jimmy. My exhaust pressure before dpf is 1220hPa on the live data. With exhaust back pressure 275hPa . Would this indicate a severe blocked dpf. I e already ordered the launch dpf cleaner to spray thought the front side of the dpf. ?

Theres a lot of soot at the tailpipe, something has clearly caused it to dump all that unburnt fuel out of the exhaust, dont think this is the last we will see of this

What can cause soot on the tailpipe? I have a 2016 clio 1.5 dci no adblue with tailpipe clean, and then i have a megane 2020 1.5 dci with adblue and has soot on tailpipe and it also regenerates quite often ,about every 150 miles , injectors been checked and they all good , egr been cleaned too

Once again previous shops messed about with parts cannon repairs without actual diagnosis... Some garages are just shocking cant even diagnose it. Its 2024 the car literally tells you whats wrong with it.
