Sceptile in terms of battling is HOT garbage it has bad stats almost 0 special coverage moves and in January tier shifts it's in the PU tier which is the lowest tier in smogon Rillaboom is incredibly good with choice band grassy glide in grassy surge. It gets high horsepower a single targeted ground type move great for fire types ,Knock off which is a nice utility move to remove held items, drum beating a good signature move that can lower the speed and U-turn for pivoting ,it can set up with swords dance or bulk up to make it even more powerful and it's doing pretty good in the OU tier and it's the most used starter pokemon

@@leethelizard3515 U all r so anime biased I guess u don't know but mega sceptile was defeated to a quadresisted water shuriken from ash greninja It's quite sad that u all support anime logic and have no knowledge with the game or metagame(competitives) Where even 10 water shurikens[15 BP](with the multiple hits) aren't enough to KO a quadresisted pokemon or even resisted like Mega sceptile/Altaria or kingdra

Actually, mega Sceptile was my best Pokémon in Omega Ruby. I even before I got the mega stone, he was so op against Team Magma. When I got the mega stone, Sceptile gain the dual typing of grass dragon. This meant fire wasn’t super effective. Mega Sceptile is one of the strongest mega evolutions, having higher speed than even Mega Charizard X!
