we have a '67 MGBGT bought new. I am glad for your advice to remove the distributor for points service. Over the years I have done it both ways and it is quite difficult if one leaves the distributor on the engine. John in Manitoba. (Canada). Your video is very clear on the process. thanks.

I’ve now bought an mgbgt same year as yours, quick question, what rpm did you set the timing at? 1500rpm? Mine is running for a few seconds after I turn it off so guessing timing is a mile out!

Shouldn't the dynamic timing be set at 10 degs before TDC? Not sure why you put tipex on the pointer for TDC and not the one next to it?

timing light was set to 10 degrees mate. So it was flashing at 10.. meaning he had 20 degrees. So he had to bring it back to tdc (The light is adjustable)
