Never had come across Rimon before until I saw her perform in Seattle, opening up for Giveon. Never having heard her music before, I still really enjoyed her performance and made me wish I knew the lyrics to her songs. She knew how to hold the audiences attention, even when the majority didn’t know who she was. Great vocals, great interaction with audience, and truly great music. I accidentally bought her merch thinking it was Giveon’s merch, but it was still money well spent. Glad I had a good introduction to this artist and her music.

I'm sure this song speaks to so many. TW: Mental Illness I come from a broken family. My parents weren't ready to be parents, but they tried to make it work until they couldn't anymore. My mom left after putting up with him for 17 years. My dad was already an alcoholic, so the depression made him even more dependent on alcohol. She decided on dual-custody because he never showed up to court, and she was afraid if she took us away from him, he would take his own life. Since then, we moved at least 13 times in the span of five years. It was six years of one week with mom, one week with dad for me, but my sister had to endure the switch longer than I did. I am lucky in a sense to have been able to stay in contact with both of my parents, but the sense of stability that having a constant home and family provides is not programmed in me. If I got in a fight with one parent, we would essentially get a break from each other since I would be gone the next week, so I grew to run away from or avoid my problems and conflict. Since I have moved continents away from them, I have found stability and peace. I miss them, but I know that if I let them into my life too much, they'll suck me back into the unresolved issues they raised me in. Home is lonely now, but a home nonetheless.
