This video is a review of the RIMOWA classic cabin carry on suitcase in the Silver Heritage Inspired Design.
I have owned this suitcase for 2.5 years now. I will tell you the pros/cons of this suitcase (in my opinion)

Great review with good points on the pros and cons. Really struggling with getting this carryon vs the away one. It may just come down to availability but I really love the style of your carryon. The only negative about This carryon it doesn’t always meet international carryon specs but the away one does. Thanks for sharing 😍

Great video. I really liked your in-depth pros, cons and realistic 'value' of it. Yes, it's relatively expensive. I have a Samsonite that I love which cost me around $100. Been perfect for two years. But the Rimowa is classic and will look/last for years. It just depends what a person values. Like you said. Maybe I'll get one next year.... Thank you for the video and keep on the fun travels!

Using the knock off luggage for checking and the nice Rimowa for carry on is the perfect combo. I’d never pay $1500-2000 for a bag that’s going to be checked...it’ll look like your Shanghai knockoff after 2 trips.

Thanks for the review. I'm torn between the Classic and the original but after seeing your review, it's helping me decide on which of the two. My thoughts are like yours. Is it worth the money? Heck no!! But will it make us happy using it in our travels? 100%! So that alone is worth it for me.

No doubt it’s the most beautiful suitcase on the market, you can clean handles with orange oil What I don’t like are the Velcro crisscrosses inside, my clothes are way too fragile to be anywhere near even the adjusted way they made their Velcro

Yes, I understand. That was a concern of mine. I just bought packing cubes from Amazon in case I need to pack anything delicate. So far I haven’t had an issue with the straps, although I’m mindful of them when packing.

The wheels are from a company called Tente. 65mm castors... At least on my 2007 Topas they are. Since LVMH bought them out the quality took a nose dive - capitalising on the perception of luxury more than reality of quality product. If I were to buy another case from Rimowa, I'd look for 'original' Rimowa... pre-LVMH.

There are a ton of reviews on TUMI 19 Degree luggages on youtube. I suggest the review by Charlie Chang and O'Round the World. Personally I've owned both RIMOWA and TUMI, I'd go for the TUMI in a heart beat. The exterior design is timelss and (in my opinion) the best in the industry, I mean you cannot find anything like it. Whereas if you go to Target, or anywhere in that matter, there are a ton of luggages that have the vertical line design. My TUMI 19 Degree has that soft close handle feature and like a car latch for its lock, it's freaking amazing everytime I lock and unlock my suitcase, it makes such a beautiful sound. Wheels and handling are amazing, personally I haven't had a problem with it. And the interior is completely closed off. Whereas with my RIMOWA, it has the cover the can detach, but when strapped, my smaller items fall through the side. With the TUMI it has never happened. It's about the same price as RIMOWA as well. For me, I wish I had bought the TUMI first.

Cabin plus does not fit within some airlines size restrictions so I would go with the Cabin like I showed.

This is the bigger, regular Classic right? And not the smaller S? Have you ever got turned away for carry on and needed to check in last minute at the door of the plane?

Yes, this is the regular classic cabin. I have never had to sky check mine. I got my fiancé the black version of this one-I would not recommend the black colour-after just 1 sky check the paint really got scratched off and now silver metal is showing through. I think it’s best to stick with the silver colour so that doesn’t happen. Since I filmed this video I also bought a large silver checkin and it is a little beat up but still looks good 👌🏻

And now that they have the blue “ocean” accessories back in stock I think you just convinced me! Yeah, the check in will see a lot more damage because of the additional weight alone. Why would you need TSA lock on a carry on that u “carry” with you? I don’t lock my carry on, does anybody? Would u check in your carry on RIMOWA, I wouldn’t. I just came back from Australia, didn’t want to carry my LV carry on roller, so bought a $35 suitcase when I stopped by Taipei, put my LV in it and checked in. I’m surprised how strong and light this $35 suitcase is and believe I got my moneys worth from single usage. This is not to say don’t buy RIMOWA, just thinking the primary reason for me to buy an expensive luggage is because I appreciate good stuff and want to look good; quality, features and usability of cheap luggage has improved so much these years, I personally don’t believe the difference should be the reason to buy a RIMOWA. Beside, why would u want to use the same thing over and over again, I’m sure you have more than one purse and why would you want to stick with one last forever carry on luggage?

Nothing will justify that price for a tiny box made from sheet aluminium that costs peanuts. My father is a wealthy property developer, I wouldn’t even dare ask him his thoughts on the price, I think it would give him a heart attack. Rimowa suitcases are just a load of unnecessary hype. Wealthy people are money smart, that’s why they stay wealthy. My father flies on economy airlines with his tacky canvas and leather suitcases from the 80’s and low and behold he is worth 8 figures, you would never ever know.
