who doesn' t like Scherazade? maybe the most popular classical music piece--its got it all great melodies, orchestration and more symphonic than you think---the two themes come back again and again----in different guises-- to tie the whole splendour of it all together. RK was genius.

Nikolai Rimsky - Korsakov occupies one of the most honorable places in the long line of Russian musical geniuses. His symphonic suite "Scheherazade" is an immortal masterpiece of world music, the heritage of all mankind. It is known in a huge number of interpretations from virtuoso orchestras and great conductors around the world. This performance is one of the best. Bravissimo! @@Akos0001 No, I don't, because it's nonsense. It is a Russian style work. It even has Russian folk elements and sections. Rimski Korsakov was praised in Russia for keeping the Russian style of classical music alive. While Tchaikovsky was criticized for being too "western" in style.
