Yup, audio on both, but heavy on the right... The left one works, but thanks to the loudness of the right side, it sounds like the left is gone. Also, the audio sounds a bit "off", meaning that Quill might have put his set up to one side instead of where he usually holds it or something? I dunno, not an audio specialist.

He probably had stereo sound on his mic on, usually lets players turn audio to mono to equalize mic sound.

If you put a door on the kitchen and then hold it open it won't get debuff from messy corridor and pawns won't get slowed down.

Quill18, in some pacfic islands they use gravel farming/fertilizer to cover the arable soil and keep it cooler durring the day and hold in the heat at night as well as keep the soil moister and provide a slow trickle of mineral and other stuff plants like

With the tilled soil mod, rice is a very good thing to do one growing of first as it grows so fast so you have food, then move on to corn as it's the most efficient for time invested vs crop yield. Strawberries are also a good choice since you don't need to cook them to remove the ate raw food debuff if you don't plan on having a kitchen set up any time soon.

I was inspired by your video quill and did my own extreme desert start. Ran into the same probably too, So yeah, we ran out food really fast, so we ate the dogs and cats first, then we started eating the raiders until our first batch of potato's were grown. It was rough.

Instead of planting trees, you can plant bamboo instead. It grows much faster, doesn't need as much space, and can be used for most things that require wood (I think the only thing it can't be used for is a research bench).

i did once something with the same Idea of Digging in like Dwarves, it helped a lot do speed up Mining as a modifirer. It was also more like in DF were it also goes much faster, so if you die right away, maybe try that!

i learned how to survive infestations, they are pretty easy to handle once you figure it out, with mods and with out mods, its actually easy to fight infestation in vanila compared to weapons expanded.

I think that if you build any sort of path and then replace it with soil/dirt once researched , you can have a new spot where you can grow.

I think those research numbers are effected by your current tech level if I'm not mistaken, I noticed that definitely has an effect but I'm not sure if it shows up as changes to the base research numbers.

Quill18 a good mod I use is AC-Smart Speed makes the game Hello faster. It helps alot with the boring cleaning,mining. it saying it's out of date but it works fine.Doesn't req A new game and can be removed as well

I feel like quill always plays with such a small map size, it doesn't take much to make it bigger and then the edge of your base isn't right at the edge of the map.

I'd love to see you try a Combat Extended run. You'd need to put a bit of effort into proper small unit tactics, but overall it makes combat so much more survivable.

Anyone having audio issues try turning off any surround sound things you might have. I've got headphones with 7.1 and it sounds awful with that on. It's not great with it off but its better

Planting on the dessert is possible but the growth rate is only 70 or so. Potatoes maybe?

You're thinking of gravel. Actual sand can't be planted on, though I think some mods give it a 5% growth rate.

Nothing screams DF quite as well as the processing of a catsplosion. Isn't the DF drunk kittens thing caused by the taverns? cats walk over the floor, dirtying their paws with all the spilled booze and then clean their paws the kitty way and end up dying from an alcohol overdose.

No, it is, precipitation in Antarctica is below the level required for desert everywhere on the continent. Snow 'fall' in Antarctica is almost always snow and ice crystals picked up from the surface by the (ever present) wind and deposited elsewhere. Effectively it is generally Antarctica's version of a dust storm. There are places in Antarctica that make Death Valley look like an Oasis.... but the whole continent sees almost no precipitation.
