Is it possible to make players rival eachother in other parts of the world map as other factions and with different bases? Not to sound demanding, because this is new and revolutionary to Rimworld, but I'm just curious if this could perhaps be implemented in the long-run.

Yes, it is a feature that is planned, but would require restructuring a lot of Rimworlds core systems. So yes, but no ETA.

If I were to make a single player game using prepare carefully and map reroll to customize a pawn for each of my friends to fit them, then get a decent map.. then save and reload with the mods disabled.. can i then run it in multiplayer? Or will it detect that mods were once present and fail?

It now supports some mods now, including edb prepare carefully. Not many actually work but it tells you which have been tested

LAN and Direct connections are pretty self explanatory. 99% of our userbase should be using steam anyway, as even non-steam bought versions of Rimworld can be redeemed for a steam key on the official Rimworld website.

Use Radmin VPN if you have a cracked version, you can play with steam players and non steam players

Why? You looking to play with a friend IRL? You could get the 'pirate' edition then and run it on another machine and use it to direct connect on LAN(or VPN) to your payed copy. I dont see anything wrong with this, since it's for private home use only.

Ngl, kinda dogwater tutorial. Only showed us what anyone passed the 5th grade could figure out. How about direct or lan connections? no mention of installing from github either. Ik the tutorial is 3 years old, maybe time for an update?
