I picked up a 6 pack of special effect ring shells. Not even sure who makes them, just says Koto collection. I picked them up at Phantom fireworks in WY. I hope there are as good as these in the video.

I hope one of Firework Store's on Pahrump NV has this kit. I'm making a road trip from Denver to Nevada and then off to the west Coast where my sister says they are "allowed" to light off the big stuff on the Beach on the 4th of July only. When I say "Allow", it's more like they turn a blind eye to the activities and just look for those that are playing with their fireworks, not the people acting like adults that know how much damage a firework can do!

Those are one of my favorite. They have a unique plastic sleeve inside them with holes in there that control the blast shape. Pretty cool.

Got a 24 pack of ring shells for the 4th called flood dragon. They even had a mine up to the ring. It's really awesome if you can get another shell to break in the center of the ring but it's hard to time correctly.

How the shell comes out of the tube really matters. If it stays straight up, the ring only appears from the shooters pov. If the shell tumbles in the air, then it could randomly appear from different points of view.

Winda has a kit called "Donut Shells," and I've got a six pack of the Koto "Special Effects Ring Shells." Pretty sure I had a pack of the Kotos last year and they were decent. I think there's at least one more I can't think of right now. A side by side demo of them all would be epic.

I've been seeing outstanding canister shells lately - almost every newer kit I've seen has been killer. I did fire a ring cake last fourth called Donut King by Shogun and it was insane and everybody went wild. I'm talking huge freaking spread on it.

Rings have been more like single stars around the circumference. The newer donut/halo effect is a really thick ring and that is the difference. This is combined with crackle sometimes and there are ghost effects as well.

I had some on the 4th. They were way overpriced for me and most of them turned so they just looked like lines rather than rings. Always a risk you take with that effect.
