Do you use anything on your buffing wheels? Could you burn incense on this? I love how easy you make this look. Thank you!
@clayzoo2 жыл бұрын
Wool and cotton wool are used for the buffing wheel. After wool, it's cotton. You can also use it as an incense holder. I've made and used several incense holders over the years. :)

You frequently delight me with surprises, Mr Zoo! Often, at the start of one of your videos, when we see the colors and patterns you plan to use, I’ll think something like “That’s not an especially pleasing color/pattern combination,” and other times, I’ll think “Aiiiieee! Don’t use *those*; they’re TERRIBLE together!” But so often, by the time we reach the conclusion, when we’re seen how you’ve combined that particular set of colors and patterns, we squeal with delight! This is the best example of such; you started with such a beautiful Skinner blend, and then added the turqouise gingham check cane, and I thought, “Nooo! Not *that!* That’s a TERRIBLE combination!” Then when you added the small retro cane, I thought, “This is a *disaster!* Didn’t he see how that combination would look in Photoshop first?!” 😳 By the time you arrive at the end, though, having combined the colors and patterns, and having bent, squeezed, molded, and twisted the clay, I see that you’d been right all along, that this was an *outstanding* example of what can be done with disparate colors and patterns. As a matter of fact, this is your best example yet of what can happen when you free yourself from perceived limitations (and from the constraints of the “rules” of combining colors and textures!). The result is just lovely, and I could hardly be more surprised given what you started with. 💛 I’d be grateful if you’d share a secret with us: when you begin your videos, do you always have a plan for what you’re going to do? Sometimes, it seems as if you’re making it up as you go along, given the pauses and the way you turn the clay this way and that, trying various configurations. Do you sometimes make it up as you go along? I always plan, plan, and plan and seldom deviate from my plan ... unless things go wrong, and then I’m forced to deviate from my plan. Luckily, these often result in happy accidents! I must confess that I have a little crush on your mind, Mr Zoo. It’s very, very interesting watching you make decisions as you go along (and so often, you surprise me by doing something that *looks* wrong, but turns out beautifully!). Between that, the relaxing yoga music, and watching your long, thin fingers moving so gracefully, I am mesmerized, and it’s the best part of my day, watching a new video you’ve posted. Thanks ever so much for these peaceful interludes in my days, watching a unique polymerist do his thing. My life is quite sad right now, and your videos are often the best part of my days. I really appreciate what you do! ❌⭕️❌⭕️

Thank you so much ^^ I don't have that great polymer clay skills. haha However, for 15 years, I have always worked on polymer clay for a lot of time without missing a day. After a long period of time, I feel that my skills have improved a little. Most tutorials are made in your head. And write down the important parts in your notebook. Then start working. When I work while filming, there are times when I want to change it differently from the one I originally designed. Then, I may revise the design in the middle. Most of them work on tutorials like this. But when I don't have an idea, there are times when I think about design while making it. I often feel like it's a limit these days. I want to come up with a completely different way of making canes haha
