Thanks again for another tutorial. My new Saturday morning routine, Coffee , a note book, my 2600, and a Ralph Video. All you tubers should watch one of your videos and take in how you present a topic. A pace that a student learning a new topic can follow and learn clearly how it works and not just mimic a patch. Cheers!

Hi again Ralph! For a couple of years I’ve been putting together the system 100. I had a ring modulator on the Neutron, but I had the main modules of the 100, it worked but I used the Function Junction, plugged into the Neutron, Crave, and thepro1. Anyway I got enough money to finish the 100 and there were still 14 modules to buy! Some of them original some not. The ring module for the 100 is not but has an LFO Sample and hold, ring modulator I forget what else. It’s completely changed the sound and expanded it immensely! Then I got the 2600 and Wow! I can do almost anything! My FX of choice on this system is a Mooer stereo reverb and Raindrps (Dreadbox), and the Microcasm. Unbelievable sound! And I’m using several sequencers from Blackbox, IPad, Crave etc… this is an expensive hobby but so much fun and creative! The ring modulator is so cool! Ty for the video!

The system 100 is awesome! I used to own a couple of modules of the original Roland 100 system back in the 1980s. I sold it to finance my skiing passion...

Nice one, Ralph! Another use I've found for the ring mod is to set it to DC mode and then connect two LFO sources (say, VCO 1 set to LF, and the sine output of the LFO). Depending on the frequencies of the LFOs you can create really gnarly complex LFO shapes that you can use to modulate anything you like - the filter cutoff, the VCO frequencies, the PWM, etc. Taking it further, you can modulate the pitch of VCO 1 with any other source to create even more complex waveforms. And if you switch the ring mod switch from DC to audio (or vice versa) you get different but interesting results.

Hey Ralph! I've watched all of your B2600 videos and they got me into exploring sounds with analog synths. Thank you so much for making these :) I've got a question about recording B2600. Is it better quality wise to record L/R cables into separate mono tracks or one L/R to a combined stereo track? Reverb in my B2600 sounds terrible when recorded with a stereo cable and I'm not sure if the issue is with my audio interface or cables.
@RalphBaumgartl2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching my videos. I am glad you find them helpful. I never had any issues with either Reverb connection. But usually I route the L/R outputs to Mono inputs on the mixer and set the panning to L and R respectively. Greetings, Ralph

Dear Ralph, if possible; Can you make also a video about Portamento. What ever I try, it don't work for me. I use the B2600 with the Arturia Keystep 37 via CV gate.
@RalphBaumgartl2 жыл бұрын
Hello Hans, you have two options! Connect the Keystep to the B2600 via Midi. Then you can use Portamento right away without any further patching. If you connect the Keystep via CV/Gate then you have to use the Lag Slider in the Voltage Processor. I explain everything in this tutorial here kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6HOgGqPnsuZl8U

I have a question. The Akai LPK25 is USB midi only. How do you connect it to the 2600? I assume you need a DAW to pass the midi signals, right? Or does the 2600 have USB host capabilities?
@RalphBaumgartl3 ай бұрын
The B2600 has a USB Midi Port as well.
@retrogamingxp3 ай бұрын
@@RalphBaumgartl but you need to plug both the LPK25 and B2600 to a PC, right?
@RalphBaumgartl3 ай бұрын
@@retrogamingxp The B2600 features USB Type B and the LPK25 features USB Mini. So you have to go via a Mac/PC or USB/Adapter Hub. Mac/PC always works whereas dealing with USB hubs and adapters is less reliable.
