Nice idea. I solved my problem a little differently. I have an old wooden door, so the sensor can sit on top of the wood, but the magnet would stick out too much from the frame, so I chiseled a slot into the wood of the frame in the shape of the magnet, so that it is about 50% embedded in the wood in a horizontal installation. Works great.

Put it on right or left side of door sec panel off floor

You can stick horizontal on the bottom of the door. Get a 12mm round magnet about 25mm long and drill a hole under the sensor in the floor. Silicone the magnet in the hole flush with floor. Simples
